Loss could be defined in various ways but felt and dealt with differently. It's easy to tell someone that it'll get easier and become less painful, but it's the feeling of loss within the person is unspeakable. No one can truly predict how one will feel when they receive the news that a loved one has passed on which could make the feeling even worse. But it's the power of caring for one another that gets us the farthest within our lives.

When compassion is felt amongst individuals tying them together, it changes the future immensely. It just takes one person to ask you how you're doing and another to give you a hug for a little smile to appear on one's face. The kind gestures that bring people together are so important in the healing process to grieve in a healthy way. We remember the good times that those before us have lived and the bad times that they've gone through in order to progress and move on. We always hear that it's the "circle of life" but it doesn't make losing loved ones any easier. But when we hear that term we realize that a new generation will probably be born in the near future and something positive is bound to happen.

Loss teaches us lessons and makes us wise beyond our words in the way that we learn things that we would have never understood if this event never happened.

Tragedies that result in loss induce fear within the nation and ourselves which doesn't make life any easier. It's the support within each other that we find that establishes a feeling of comfort and strength within any area. When everyone is able to lean on one another, the possibilities of a positive outcome are endless. Loss is different for each person that experiences it, but it's the way that we assist one another in experiencing it which matters.

Although the world is unpredictable and so are the people that are living in it, we need to remember that life is constant and keeps moving. No matter what happens and what we go through the sun will still revolve around the earth, as we need to keep going as we revolve around each other.

We are the present and the future, and the one's before us have created the history that we read about constantly. It is our choice to conduct our future and how we want to be seen. As we lose the one's we love and care about, we learn and understand how important their presence was on this earth. It's the love that we show one another that makes our world the way it is, and the history that the past carries which guides us to our future. The loss of our past defines the present and the future.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
