What Men Shouldn't Do On Online Dating Apps

Just as many young adults today, I too have tried social media online dating sites. Whether you're on there in search of a potential significant other or just a hook up, it's nice to get to meet new people in a way our parents never had the opportunity to do. In fact, the online dating world is so new to us that fathers don't know how to educate their sons on what the proper way to go about online dating is. Therefor, I've put together a short list of what young men shouldn't do when it comes to online dating.

1. Don't have shirtless pictures as one of your profile pictures.

We get it, you work out. We like that you care about your health and enjoy hitting the gym. However, this can easily be misinterpreted to females as seeing the guy as being conceded. Nobody likes a man that thinks he's better than everyone else. Being humble about your appearance will get you further in life when it comes to dealing with females.

2. If you get our snapchat name, that doesn't mean we want, "dick pics."

I can't stress enough to you how much of a turn off this is to females. Sorry guys, but girls don't enjoy getting, "dick pics," like men enjoy getting boob pictures. If you send a girl a picture of your penis don't expect her to take you seriously, expect to be blocked.

3. Don't ask the girl to come over when meeting her for the first time.

In today's society we hear tons and tons of stories about people not being who they say they are online. I mean, everyone has seen the show Catfish before. So don't be offended if a girl won't come over when you ask her to meet for the first time. You know you're who your profile says you are, but she doesn't. Instead go to a more public place, perhaps dinner at a restaurant.

4. Don't be surprised if you get accused of being fake.

This goes along with number three. If you’re a perfect looking male don't be surprised if you're accused of being fake. If your career is insanely unbelievable don't be surprised if a girl calls you fake. Instead, get off social media dating sites and get out there. Actually try meeting girls face to face. If they think you're too perfect online, you shouldn't have a problem getting a date with a girl face to face.

5. If you don't have any pictures on your profile, don't expect a swipe right.

This should be obvious to anyone. If you don't have a profile picture, something is wrong. If you're too insecure to actually put a picture of you on your profile, you aren't ready to meet someone and actually seriously date. Work on being happy and content with yourself before you take the on the online dating world. Until then no girl is going to swipe right on a man they can't even see a picture of.

6. The Bio on your profile really does matter.

If you’re looking to not take the app seriously, by all means write whatever you want in the bio space provided. However, if you want to be taken seriously give us girls something to read that lets us know what you're looking for! The more insight girls are given on you from your profile, the easier it will be to start a conversation.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
