The Spring Break festivities officially commence in less than 2 weeks, and it appears as though everyone on campus is preparing for this vacation. Over the course of the past month, Trudy Fitness Center and Gate Fitness classes have been completely packed with many students stating that they are attempting to get "bikini body ready." Though I do not agree with this concept, which is a whole separate Odyssey article topic in itself, I do support an active and healthy lifestyle with a balance of healthy eating and exercise, with cheat meals and drinks included of course. As we all know, sometimes getting yourself pumped about working out can prove to be quite challenging. Whether it's an intense cardio session or a shorter HIIT strength training workout, the prospect of working out sometimes just really sucks. However, the perfect music playlist can make working out both enjoyable and desirable. The music list below is a surefire way to get yourself both excited and maintain the same spirit and determination throughout the duration of your workout.
1. "Who's That Chick?" Rihanna and David Guetta
An oldie, but a goodie.
2. "Deep Down Low" by Valentino Khan
Great for strength training and squats!
3. "Peanut Butter Jelly" by Galantis
Just so you can work up your appetite for that delicious peanut butter jelly sandwich post-workout.
4. "Again" Fetty Wap
A little bit slower pace, but great to sing along to with and distract yourself pretending you're not working out.
5. "Jealous (The Rooftop Boys Remix)" Nick Jonas and The Rooftop Boys
Nick Jonas' dreamy voice will always elevate your mood.
6. "Roses [Zaxx Remix" The Chainsmokers feat. ROZES
The BEST song to keep you going on the treadmill, elliptical or bike.
7. "In Too Deep [Kazum Remix]" Sum 41
The 90s never die.
8. "Kanye [Reece Low Remix]" The Chainsmokers feat. sirenXX
Even though I think most of us can agree we don't want to be like Kanye.
9. "Easy Love" Sigala
Also great if you love throwbacks with its incorporation of the Jackson 5 and a very young Michael Jackson
10. "I'm an Alboatroz [KillHertz Remix]" AronChupa
This song will give you the power and strength of an actual albatross.
11. "Reflections [Milkman Remix]" Misterwives
Run your heart away with this breakup anthem.
12. "We Are Young (Alvin Risk Remix)" Fun. feat. Janelle Monae
A true millennial anthem.
13. "Lose Yourself" Eminem
By far the most cliche and oldest song on this list, but there is nothing that pumps you up more than a good uplifting, confidence-inducing song.
