It's the most wonderful time of the year! It's more than acceptable to be busting out the Christmas tunes, finally! My Christmas playlist this year is huge. I've been listening to a lot of new Christmas music, and I've made a list of some of my favorite covers. Below are 10 of the tunes I've been blasting this Christmas season.

10. "It's Not Christmas Without You" by Katharine McPhee

Okay, how cute is this song? Katharine McPhee has a gorgeous voice (it's no wonder she got into the top two in 2006's American Idol), and it really shines in this song.

9. "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" by Kelly Clarkson

Another American Idol alum, Kelly Clarkson released her debut Christmas album in 2013. I must've been under a rock for the last three years because this is the first time I've listened to her album. This album is a little unexpected compared to her typical music--there's a lot of gentle piano in the background--but Kelly is still killin' it.

8. "Walking In The Air" by The Choir Boys

This is one of my favorite Christmas songs to attempt to sing along with. This rendition, performed by a group of boys, hits all the high notes. Every time I listen to it, I'm equal parts impressed and disappointed. Impressed at the range of these boys and disappointed that I can't sing like them.

7. "Santa Baby" by The Pussycat Dolls

It's only fitting that a sexy girl group should sing the sexiest Christmas song. I never would've thought that The Pussycat Dolls would cover a Christmas song, but I'm so glad they did.

6. "Sleigh Ride" by The Ronettes

To be honest, I don't know who The Ronettes are and I never cared much for the song "Sleigh Ride" until those two things got put together. The lead singer's voice sounds like molasses, but the best part of the song is the background singers. They sing "Ring-a-ling-a-ling-a-ding-dong-ding" throughout the whole song. You bet I'm singing along.

5. "Mistletoe" by Justin Bieber

Again, I can't believe I'm saying this, but this was the first year I listened to JB's Christmas album. It's five years old, but I'm officially hopping on the fangirl train because "Mistletoe" is so good. I've never been a Belieber, but I just want to take a moment to say: Justin, thank you.

4. "Last Christmas" by Ashley Tisdale

This has been my go-to Christmas jam for the last decade. No one does this song better than Ashley Tisdale. I don't know what Ashley is up to these days, but I think she should probably record a Christmas album, stat.

3. "Silver Bells" by Martina McBride

Growing up, I heard this album a million times. This is my mom's go-to Christmas album, and I totally understand why. Martina McBride's voice is absolutely stunning. Honestly, this whole album is great, but "Silver Bells" will always be my fave.

2. "White Christmas" by Michael Bublé and Shania Twain

If I could put Michael Bublé's entire Christmas album on this list, I would have. This album is a cult classic, and there's no question why. Michael's voice is like butter; really, really great butter. I would let him serenade me any day. "White Christmas" is my favorite song on the album because of how bouncy and fun it is. 10/10 would recommend buying this album if you haven't already.

1. "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey

Did you really think I'd forget the number one Christmas anthem? This is the first Christmas song I listened to this season. I turn it up to max volume every time it comes on; It's that good. I'm sure most of America is familiar with this song by now, but it doesn't go out of style. All hail Queen Mariah.

Do yourself a favor and add these 10 Christmas songs to your playlist this holiday season. You won't be sorry.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
