The Best Of Disneyland

In honor of Disneyland celebrating their 61st birthday last week, here's some of the best that the park has to offer!

As far as rides go...

1. Hyperspace Mountain

Feel like you're in another galaxy on this rollercoaster formerly known as 'Space Mountain'. The ride was renovated to better resemble the "Star Wars" franchise and it was a huge hit after it opened during the release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

2. The Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion opened in 1969 and is one of the only Disney attractions that is featured at every other international Disney park. This ride is especially popular during Halloween and Christmas time because of it's "Nightmare Before Christmas" theme. There's also a conspiracy that the mansion is actually haunted by real ghosts but I'd rather not find out.

3. The Mad Tea Party

If you go to Disneyland and don't have someone take your picture whilst spinning on a teacup, did you really go to Disneyland? Fun fact: the purple teacup spins the fastest!

4. Indiana Jones Adventure

Although you'll be lucky if your ride doesn't break down and you actually get to see the giant ball roll towards you, Indiana Jones Adventure is a favorite for many. Do yourself a favor, skip the line and get a fast pass instead because ain't nobody got time for a minimum 75 minute wait!

5. Pirates of the Caribbean

Not only is this one of Disney's most iconic attractions but it's also one of the longest. It lasts about 15 minutes and ends with a Johnny Depp look-a-like singing "Yo ho, yo ho a pirates life for me," so really what's not to love? This attraction was also the very last ride that Walt Disney personally oversaw before he passed away in 1966.

6. Splash Mountain

Whether it's 102 degrees or pouring rain, there is always a line for this ride. With that being said, your group has more than enough time to come up with a clever pose for the picture that will be taken at the 52.5 foot drop.

Now when it comes to food...

1. Pineapple Dole Whip

This is a must have on every trip to disney! The Dole Whip stand, located right next door to the Tiki Room, is the only place in all of Disneyland where you can find this spiral of heaven. I wish there was a fast pass for this line but it is so worth the wait!

2. Mint Julep

It may look like an alcoholic beverage but actually, the only place in Disneyland that sells alcohol is Club 33 which is exclusive to select guests only, so I guess this mint based drink with a hint of lime will have to do.

3. Mickey Beignets

Beignets might sound familiar from Disney's "The Princess and the Frog" and honestly these Mickey shaped desserts taste handmade by Princess Tiana herself!

4. Monte Cristo Sandwich

This sandwich right here is no joke... turkey, ham, swiss cheese, deep fried, powdered sugar and a berry puree. Yeah, kiss your diet goodbye.

5. Clam Chowder Bread Bowl

Carbs, carbs and even more carbs, but you will not regret getting this delicious bowl of soup but what you will regret is eating the actual bowl itself.

Don't forget to...

1. Watch the Parade

Disneyland parades are always so nicely put together. They also make it possible for younger kids to interact with their favorite characters which is always so cute to see.

2. Stay to watch the Firework Show

Disney's Firework Spectacular is absolutely beautiful and unlike any other fireworks you've ever seen! There's no better way to end your day at the happiest place on Earth than with a grand finale!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
