So you're the type that likes to stay home on Halloween and watch scary movies? Did the debates not scare you enough? No?
Well lucky for you there is plenty of great horror cinema (besides Trump and Clinton) to watch while the door bell rings in the trick-or-treaters. Here are five awesome horror movies you should check out if you're looking to be frightened on Halloween, but unfortunately, they still aren't scary as the 2016 presidential election.
1. Halloween (1978)
Obviously, a movie called Halloween is a must-watch but it's also one of the best horror movies of all time. The first American slasher film, Halloween is as good as it gets for the slasher genre. The face of the inhumane Michael Myers and that piano theme will haunt your dreams forever.
2. The Exorcist (1973)
Another horror classic, another nightmare inducing theme song, and haunting images. I mean haunting. I'm talking devil possessed, head spinning 360 degrees haunting. You can't unsee that.
3. 28 Days Later (2002)
Caught up with The Walking Dead? Then you have to see the best zombie movie of all time. Yes, I said it. Cause it's true. 28 Days Later revolutionized the zombie genre forever. They can RUN!!
4. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
A chainsaw wielding cannibal in small town Texas feasts on college kids. Perfect.
5. Friday the 13th (1980)
The movie that ruined summer camps for most people: Jason Voorhees, his machete, and that awful hockey mask is another classic bloody horror story to watch in the dark.
If you do plan to stay home on Halloween to watch these or any other horror movie, then I strongly advise you don't watch them alone. It goes both ways for those going out for Halloween or those that are not: don't be stupid.
Hope you have a fearful and happy Halloween!
