In life, there are those people that you click with easily and you feel as though you have known them for years. That was the case with the girl I have called my best friend since we were three years old. Years have gone by, and I still remember the first day of kindergarten when she walked up, introduced herself again and we easily blended together; two peas in a pod.

It is not until now -- when we both are about to leave for college -- that I have come to appreciate the woman who has become my other sister throughout the years. There was no me without her. We shared milestones together, birthdays, holidays and all the other life experiences that make me the person I am today.

My best friend has a wonderful and bright personality not like any other. She is practical in the right sense, happy and comfortable to be who she is. She has a natural confidence about her that I have seen in very few people. When she has a passion for something, she fully dives in with all her might and strength. She is the most sarcastic person I know which has brought on a handful of laughs. Her beautiful, long , brown hair with all its curls has made me jealous of how perfect it is. She is a beautiful woman and has always been there to support me no matter the cause.

We went to the same grade school together, K-eighth which made it easier for us to always be next to each other, but when we went to separate high schools, that is when it became harder for us to stay at each other's sides. Every friendship has its ups and downs. When you make it through the struggle of being apart, is when you know you can conquer anything together. I think it was good for us to be separated from each other throughout the four years. It allowed us to grow and change in ways to where we both could mold into our own individual selves. We were codependent upon one another for 10 years of our lives. To be apart may have been hard, but in the end we would not have been able to learn and sprout into the women we are today.

As we go off to college, I am reminiscent of the time we have spent and will continue to spend together for years to come... When we are together, nothing has never felt as natural as it does with her. We always pick up where we left off, but it also feels like we were never apart.

To the sister who is reading this, you know who you are. I could not have got to this point in my life without you. I am so grateful for you. I am so proud to know you and I still consider you my best friend and my sister even after all these years. You will do amazing things. You walk by faith and you are a strong, beautiful young woman destined to conquer all you do. I love you so much! Stay strong! Good luck! We will always be together and I know we will stay sisters for years to come!

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; and laughs without fear of the future.”- Proverbs 31: 25

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
