Nowadays, many people resort to drinking coffee as their sole source of caffeine for the day. I even know some people who are addicted to coffee and can’t go one day without drinking it.
I personally prefer tea over coffee, and realized that tea isn’t at all addicting as coffee is. Additionally, there are so many health benefits (and other benefits) that go along with drinking tea.So you’re basically getting your daily caffeine while also getting healthy!
Here are a few of the great things that happen to you if you drink tea.
For one, it boosts exercise endurance. So you have energy to run that extra mile or do those extra ten sit-ups. Whatever it is, tea will give you the endurance to do it. As you get older, drinking tea becomes even more beneficial because it helps reduce the risk of getting a heart attack. Power for your heart!
Despite tea being a source of caffeine, it is actually very hydrating to the body! This can counteract the harmful dehydrating effects coffee can often have on the body.
Tea can also help protect your skin. Now that summer’s coming around, you will be exposed to the sun’s burning rays more so than usual. Along with applying sunscreen, drinking green tea specifically could help as a sort of "back up" sunscreen, if you will, against all those UV rays.
Worried about your body? Consuming hot tea regularly could help you achieve lower BMI and therefore keep your waist circumference in check.
Along with helping your weight, there are essentially endless varieties of teas to help you when you're sick or tired. There's even tea for when you can't fall asleep. Have a sore throat? Herbal tea is great for that. Can't fall asleep? Chamomile or lavender tea will help do the trick. Having trouble starting your day? Green tea will wake you up! (black tea has even more caffeine if you're feeling extra tired).
Who could forget about all the cute tea infusers that exist in this grand old world? There’s owls, mice, cute robots, and oh so much more to make your tea-drinking experience that much more enjoyable. Now this may not be a health benefit, but it is definitely a benefit to your happiness.
Go ahead. Pour yourself a cuppa. Cheers!
