Everyone loves to find new music, but Pandora just doesn't seem to get the job done. These are some websites to help your search.
HYPETRAK is my personal favorite website for staying up to date on all of the newest music videos of today..They also keep you up to date on the news for rappers personal lives as updates on albums soon to come out. My favorite feature on the website is the Soundcloud stream which includes a playlist of their own personal playlist. This is a must visit website for those into the hip hop scene.
Gnoosic is flat out the best website for finding new music and artists of any genre. They start by having you list three of your favorite artists followed by a cycle of deciding whether you either like, dislike or have never heard of an artist they present you with. If they present you with an artist you have never heard of, I would highly recommend checking said musician out. Anything from classical to EDM, Gnoosic will help you find your next favorite artist.
Neon Gold is the website to go to if you want to find the next hit EDM single before your friends do. They are also their own record label and keep you included on all of their most recent releases. Each blog post includes a description of the song itself as well as a small bio of the artist. The absolute best part of this website is that they include a Soundcloud stream of each featured song, allowing you to have a listen while you continue your search for the newest music. If you're looking for some good vibes, Neon Gold is the place to go. (I'm actually listening to their website as I write this.)
GoldFlakePaint has an absolutely beautiful interface featuring numerous blog posts of up and coming indie rock artists. On the main page their are a plethora of articles to click on as well as links to their very own recording sessions and to their Spotify website. Click on a blog and you are presented with an exceptional article about the band and song/album followed by an audio file of said artist. I head to this website whenever I need some music to relax to.
XLR8R (Accelerator) is a funky new website I recently stumbled upon that is every techno lovers dream. It is very similar to the HYPETRAK style as far as layouts go, offering news in the techno world and providing stream of the songs they deem worthy of their websites. One of the coolest features is their reviews of gear for making music as well as more famous artists providing tips to those who wish to make it in the music industry. Whether you go to XLR8R just to find some new music or to set yourself up for success, this is the place to go.
And finally, the most popular website on this list. I love this website with a passion, it is the Twitter of music. Follow your friends and see which songs they resound or like. The layout of this place is amazing, providing a stream of all of your friends and favorite artists new music. The like feature is also pretty amazing, allowing you to favorite a song that goes to your library for your own personal enjoyment. The best thing about this is the ability to find music you cannot find anywhere else, so many rappers and EDM artists release mix tapes and remixes exclusively on Soundcloud, and it's all free. I don't care what music you're looking for, this website is a must have.
