College is a place where you meet people you never expected. Some people you may never really connect with, and some will be there until the end. There are about 5 friends you make in college that are essential to the college life, and from my point of view, here they are.

The rager

Everyone knows this friend and I guarantee the minute you saw, “the rager” that person popped into your mind. They are always down to go out, meet new people and experience college as if they were in a college based movie. They celebrate every drinking day of the week, Tequila Tuesday, Wasted Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday and so on. They’re so fun to go out with, can find a fun situation in anything, they are the apitamy of college.

The person you thought was a crush but is now a best friend

He or she is so cute, funny, smart, everything you want in a relationship but you can’t be with them because they turned into your best friend. You set them up with your friends and watch them fall in love and out of love. There is always that crazy attraction but everyone involved knows that your friendship is purely a friendship. With that person, you’re an old friend, and that’s perfectly fine.

The grandma

This one seems weird, I know, but let me explain. The grandma is the friend who goes to bed at 10:30, always has the snacks in her bag and takes care of you like you were family. They will go out with you once in a blue moon. They are not much for partying but they will get you water, watch what you drink and get you home way before the sun rises because they know sleep is important. They have such wise advice and support you through any situation that may come your way. The grandma has an undying love for your friendship and will stick around through it all because she knows you’ll need a tissue and some chocolate in a week or so.

The class friend

This friend is in most of your classes, or maybe even just one. He or she is at every class and you two confide in each other during class but never hang out past that. They listen so well and they are the best study partners around, but you two are unlikely to spend time together out of class. They are the ones who tell you what you missed in class and make sure you have the notes and homework for the next class. They are part of the reason you’re passing. You’re class friend is the real MVP.

The forever friend

Last, but not least, is the friend who you click with on an emotional level. You two are like two peas in a pod. If you aren’t with that person, people ask why because it is so uncommon for you two be apart. This friend is the one you eventually move in with, they understand your humor, watch what you watch and will always tell you the honest truth. This friend is someone who you can see at your wedding, meeting your kids, they seem to want to stick around. This friend is what college is about.

They say you meet your best friends in college, and that is more than true. No matter your college experience, you’ll come across these 5 and realize that life is just beginning.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
