Getting to the gym is quite the task, and everyone has their own process that they go through to get the dreaded job done. It's usually unnecessarily long and includes a high amount of procrastination and excuse-making. But, no matter the method, we do what we know we have to do and that's all that matters, right?
1. Feeling motivated.
I'm pumped and ready to get my sweat on. I've never been more ready!
2. But wait, I'm hungry.
I haven't eaten since breakfast, and passing out on the treadmill in front of the entire gym would be life-ending. So, I should probably have a banana or something.
3. I need to let my food settle for at least an hour, right?
I'll wait two hours, just to be safe. Wouldn't want to have to deal with side cramps mid-workout!
4. Finding the perfect workout outfit.
*spends 30 minutes finding a clean sports bra*
5. Actually making the journey to the gym.
Facing the harsh elements and being dedicated to my fitness (unless it's too hot or too cold).
6. Circling the gym to find open equipment.
Twenty minutes later, I'm in between a marathon runner (show-off!) and the guy who never stops sweating.
7. Finding the perfect workout playlist.
It is physically impossible to run without music, and it is of utmost importance to find the perfect songs.
8. Slowly but surely getting through my workout.
I'm approaching my calorie/miles/time goal, and that's all that matters!
9. Realizing how much I'm sweating.
Yikes, I really should have brought a towel.
10. Reaching your goal! (sometimes)
Finally being able to go home and pig out/pass out/do whatever your heart desires!
11. Realizing you have to do it all again tomorrow.
Yay! Can't wait. Until then, I most definitely deserve an entire plate of brownies that I would probably eat anyway.
