Almost everyone knows what the secret is to a successful four years in college right? Netflix! Netflix is a successful tool that can help a person get through those fun, yet academically challenging four years that you will spend in that tiny cramped dorm room. Whether you are a seasoned Netflixer, or are new to the amazing little thing we like to call Netflix, here are the top eight shows that are a MUST watch for college students. These shows have gotten me through the best of times and the worst of times, so now I will give you list of the shows that will forever change your view on Netflix.
1. "Greys Anatomy"
" Grey's Anatomy" is the show that almost everyone has watched but a select few. I was once one of those select few until during Christmas Break of freshman year. "Grey's Anatomy" will not only make you feel like you should run and pick up your badge and stethoscope at your local hospital, but will also come in handy when you run out stuff to talk about with a person. I would say there is a six out of 10 chance that any person you are having a conversation with (especially in college) has seen "Greys Anatomy," and if they haven't you can take credit for helping with the start of their Grey's addiction.
2. "Private Practice"
"Private Practice" is a spinoff of "Greys Anatomy" that does not disappoint. When one is done with "Greys Anatomy" on Netflix and waiting for the next season to premiere on television, I advise turning to Private Practice to help with your Grey's withdrawal that you are experiencing. "Private Practice" is so good, that once finished you will contemplate whether you liked it or "Grey's Anatomy" better... But then of course you will come to your senses and realize that "Grey's Anatomy" has and will always have that top place in your heart.
3. "Revenge"
"Revenge" is a show that came out several years ago, and is the perfect mix of mystery meets drama. This show is about a woman named Emily Thorne, Emily returns to where she grew up (The Hamptons) to implement revenge on those that wronged her father. This television show will leave you on your toes from the start, and every season and episode is available on Netflix which is another huge plus.
4. "One Tree Hill"
As another late bloomer to the "One Tree Hill" club, I can say that this show is arguably one of the best shows on Netflix to date. One Tree Hill features the Scott brothers Nathan and Lucas, where one sees how their struggles of not only sharing the same town, but the basketball court and friends as well. This show NEVER gets old, and once finished will have you planning a trip to Wilmington, NC to see where this magical show took place.
5. "Pretty Little Liars"
"Pretty Little Liars" is the show that almost everyone has seen, but only a few are faithful enough to religiously watch all of the episodes... I am one of those. I have been through my ups and downs with "Pretty Little Liars" over the years, but my love for the show has just recently come back. Just when you think that you know what is going on, there is another twist that is thrown in proving that nothing is for certain. Let's not forget the killer fan theories that will leave you so mind blown that you can't even think straight.
6. "How to Get Away with Murder"
"How to Get Away with Murder" follows criminal defense attorney Annalise Keating, showing how she and her law students battle the in and out of lying, cheating and murder. Each episode is not only jaw clenching, but once over leaves you with feeling inside of wanting more and being upset that there are a whole seven days between you and the next episode.
7. "Orange is the New Black"
"Orange is the New Black" is a show that almost anyone can enjoy. This Netflix original series tells the story of prisoner Piper Chapman and how she adjusts to her life in prison. This show is one that you will non-shamingly binge-watch in a matter of days and will leave you with the sad realization that you have to wait until June of next year to watch the next season.
8. "The Walking Dead"
"The Walking Dead" is a show that leaves you thinking with the right shot gun or machete, you could indeed kill all walkers that cross your path if a zombie apocalypse were to ever occur. Based off of its popular comic books series, this show has created a mass frenzy of fans all over the world. The show starts by showcasing sheriff Rick Grimes waking up in a hospital bed after the zombie apocalypse has occurred. Over the six seasons you will be met with the blood, sweat, and tears of the cast of this addictive show.
