Dear Mom and Dad,
First of all, I would like to apologize for any time I have seemed ungrateful. For the last 18 years, you have done so much for me and I rarely thank you for it. Like many kids, I tend to take you guys for granted way too often. I want to thank you now for all of the things you do for me.
Thank you for everything you provide for me. Thank you for a pantry full of good food, our house, a closet full of new clothes, my car, my phone, my camera, and everything else. Thank you for always making sure I have everything I need (and want).
Thank you for all of your time spent on me. Driving me to musical rehearsals, taking me shopping, making me food, driving me and my friends all over. I know you are both extremely busy with your own lives, so thank you for always making time for mine.
Thank you for working so hard to provide for our family. You work endless hours at work on top of being full-time parents to me and my brother. Thank you for sacrificing your time and hard work for us.
Thank you for always putting your children first. Thank you for letting my brother and I play our music in the car, pick where we eat, and choose what we do almost every day. Thank you for sometimes putting our plans in front of your plans.
Thank you for dealing with me. I can only imagine how annoying it must be to listen to me practice the same song or ask the same question over and over. Thank you for not getting mad when I'm cranky and have an attitude (which is pretty often).
Thank you for letting me learn. Thank you for staying back and letting me make and learn from my own mistakes in everything from school to relationships. Thank you for also helping me when I ask.
Thank you for always supporting me. Thank you for eating the cookies I bake even if they turn out funky. Thank you for letting me choose my own hobbies and interests. Thank you for attending every band, choir, and drama performance of mine.
Most importantly, thank you for being there for me through all the ups and downs in my life. I wouldn't be half the person I am today if it weren't for you guys. I'm sorry I don't say it enough, but thank you for everything you do for me. I love you both so much.
Sincerely,
Your Daughter
