Thanksgiving, As Told By 'Big Mouth'

"You're the man, baby."

Thanksgiving, the day we've all been starving for. A day devoted entirely to eating. Sure, the popular Netflix show "Big Mouth" cares more about sex and hormones, but we all can relate to how hungry our hormones can make us.

We know Coach Steve will be celebrating his Thanksgiving on the Diaper Barge, while Jay begs his mom to provide him with some sort of cooked meal, and Mori might even be nice to Andrew this time and let him fully enjoy his meal before giving him a random boner.

So let's enjoy Thanksgiving just like Nick and Andrew would: feeling stuffed.

The morning of the big day

It's dark and cold and early morning, but through your crusted eyes, you know that it's Thanksgiving. If you're a weird one, you go run in a Turkey Trot first thing in the morning, but if you're normal, you sleep in until you can smell food cooking.

Watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade

Whether your parents dragged you out of bed to watch it, or your siblings just *have* to see Charlie brown kick the giant football, the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade isn't such a bad way to kick off your day.

Greeting the family

Family shows up, and you have that one aunt that just can't stop leaving lipstick prints on your face and going on about how big you've gotten. You never know if she means height or weight, but you shudder nonetheless.

Hanging out with your favorite cousin

There's a reason they're your favorite cousin, Maybe it's the stuff you get yourselves into, or the lack of time you actually get to spend with one another, but linking up with them makes this holiday even better. You can consider the actual food as a bonus.

Talking to the older relatives

We all have that one bitter relative that can't ever seem to be proud of you for anything. They'll compare you to another family member, your achievements overshadowed by the others. You'll always be a failure to them. But hey, at least they brought over some dessert.

Watching and playing football

Whether you're playing in your own Turkey Bowl or watching some football on TV, it's a tradition to enjoy as much football as possible before you pig out. It's also great to have on in the background while you nap before the big meal.

Finally drinking with family

Someone decides it's finally acceptable for you to drink with the family, so you have to pretend that it's your first time drinking and you aren't just about to offer everyone a Y-Bomb. You've got this under control, though. I'm sure grandma is very proud of you for shotgunning a beer in under 5 seconds.

Chowing down

The time is now. The turkey is laid out on the table, looking just so plump, and you know you're going to eat until you're sick. But this is what Thanksgiving is all about. Gluttony, over-stuffing ourselves, and something about being thankful.

The food coma

The food coma hits harder than a hangover, and you're certain you won't be able to button your pants again. It was such an experience, both physically and emotionally, that you're in pure bliss. So beautiful, in fact, that you can't wait to do it all again the next day.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
