Dear Mom,
As Mother's Day passes I wanted to say one thing: thank you.
Thank you for being there for me when I needed you the most. Thank you for showing me what being a woman of God truly means. You do not know how much that means to me. You do not know how much you showed me loving Christ is the best thing for my life. We might have had a few rough patches throughout the years but you always showed me that you really cared for me. You showed me that even when you nagged me about grades and school work. You always pushed me to do my best and that was always the results that were shown. You made me push through my hurt and pain to prove myself to others and to myself. I thank you for doing that. I thank you for showing me that loving God is more important than boys, or life, or friends. Showing God's love to others is the only thing that should truly matter to a woman of Christ.
You are the woman that I aspire to be as I get older. You put everyone else first in your life before you deal with your problems. You always make sure that I have what I want and need before you check on yourself. You are a caring mother and I know I don't say that enough. You are there for me in the good times and the bad. You place your loving arms around me when I need you to. You are always there to give me a 'mom hug' that makes me feel safe and comforted when I feel alone and distraught. You know just what to say when I am screaming in your face about what to do with my life. You stay calm in the face of adversity and you show me that no matter what, I have to let God have control. You are the mother that says what needs to be said and does what needs to be done to get me to do things. You may annoy me about my room but I know that you love me.
You are a true Proverbs 31 women. You show love to others, you take time out of your day to play with children, you show God's mercy to those who probably don't truly deserve it. You speak the wisdom young women need to hear when they come to you. I have always seen that since I was a young child. I now get to say that my wisdom stems from you when people ask, "how do you know that?" I always try to show you how much I love you. I might not go about it in the right way, most of the time. I do love you, mom, and I cannot wait to teach my children everything you taught me and are still teaching me.
You taught me about Psalm 139:14, "I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, your works are wonderful, I know that full well." You taught me that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and that only God should hold the place of love in my heart forever. Guys will come and go but God, and dad, are the ones that hold that place in your heart and my heart forever. Thank you so much for being my mother.
I love you so much, mom, and I just wanted you to know that.
Love,
Your Daughter
