Thank You, Donald Trump

Thank you for being the racist, sexist embarrassment of a presidential nominee.

Thank You, Donald Trump

As much as there is hate shown in this world, there is an equal amount of love. But no matter how progressive the world and its people will become, there will always be somebody who believes that women should only care about their appearance and nothing more. There will always be that one person who ranks others' superiority based on the color of their skin. There will always be someone who will startle you on how backwards their thinking can possibly be. And there is someone who believes that those qualities should be overshadowed by the amount of money they possess and believes it won't affect his campaign.

And for that, I thank you, Donald Trump.

Thank you for making me realize that there are still people who believe that I don’t deserve to be judged by my intellect and that my goals should be to have the perfect body instead. It reminds me of the bigger population of people that have beliefs that say otherwise and have an even bigger reason to voice them. We just deserve to be the subject of your excruciatingly-detailed stories about how you proudly groped women and can’t resist kissing them. If you completely disregard how these women felt and still feel, let alone their marital status, how do you think we will just sit there quietly and let you dictate how the rest of us should feel? Because in your mind, even though women have fought tirelessly for the right to vote and that there is a significant amount of women in the United States that can vote, we shouldn’t help you by voting for you. Instead, we should make ourselves want you to judge us. So thanks for reminding women that we are not capable to speak and think as equally as a male does by taking our voices away and putting labels, because you’re giving us the opportunity to vocalize our thoughts even louder.

Thank you for promoting that anyone with Muslim beliefs is a terrorist and that all Hispanics deserve to be blocked by a wall, because the rest of us will be smart enough to not vote for someone who doesn’t see everyone as equals. You fail to realize that love does not have a race or ethnicity. This is 2016. There are barely any young and even some older voters that support anything related to racism, and yes, that is including white individuals. There are so many diverse, multicultural and multiracial people in our country.

I commend you for stereotyping people negatively based on their background, because it makes me proud to be in a mature community that does not exercise white supremacy and instead believes in treating everybody as your ally. Good luck with trying to satisfy your stubborn supporters without crashing the economy by deporting all undocumented immigrants.

Most of all, thank you for showing me that no matter how absurd your beliefs are, it’s the way you present them that persuades people more than anything. You present your disgusting thoughts and ideas with so much pride that it makes me and many others very certain that you won’t get our vote. You might have bucket-loads of money, but you will never have what it entails to be president because you lack complete morale.

So all in all, thank you, Donald Trump, for making it clear to see what kind of people I live with in this country, and of course, making it clear that America will be great again without you as the President of the United States.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
