Dear Boston,

Thank you. Thank you for being there for me whenever I need a good laugh, a smile, or something to cheer me up after a Thursday full of classes. You never run out of things to keep me busy on the weekends. Thank you for introducing me to some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Thank you for your enthusiasm. I honesty never imagined that I would live in a city where sports are a way of life and everyone leaves and breathes Red Sox games, Tom Brady, and all things Celtics.

Thanks for being unpredictable. Whether it’s the Green Line or your weather pattern, you always keep me on my toes. Thank you for your pop-up bakeries and talented performers that brighten up Newbury street on a cloudy Saturday afternoon. Thank you for your quaint bookstores and adorable coffee shops that bring people of all different backgrounds together. You change lives and you change minds. You are the smartest city in the world and have produced some of the most intelligent and successful people in the world. You are home to some of the best hospitals and colleges in the world but remain humble.

Thank you for being you Boston.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
