In life, friends surely do come and go like the most recent fashion trends. There's a huge difference between friends who are here to stay and here to go. I am a firm believer that God places just the right people in your life at the right times, and sometimes the relationships that are created are only short term. Everyone who becomes part of your life for years, or maybe even an hour, is meant to teach you a lesson. Everyone comes to a point in their life when they realize who true friends really are, and I believe I just hit that realization.
Looking back in my life, I look at all the ups and downs that have put me where I am today. There will always be highs and lows in life, and I am surely glad that I have found those who truly will stick by my side throughout all obstacles of life. Some "friends" are only in your life to watch you fail, or to be judgmental of your actions. It does not matter how hard you try, sometimes those relationships will just never be successful. I believe in second, third, or even 15 chances, but at some point in time, someone's negativity will never be able to be pushed to the back burner anymore.
Life is about gaining experiences, making memories, and putting just the right people by your side through all occasions. Drown out all negativity, and you will find yourself being happier than you have ever been. The sad thing is, negativity oftentimes stems from friendships when you do not even know it.
Love the friends who make you laugh, who respect your decisions, and who are happy for all of your life accomplishments. Be thankful for friends who give you positive support, and who are not judgmental of your mistakes and mishaps. Find someone who listens, and understands, and allow yourself to reciprocate those traits. Don't forget to let those people know just how blessed you are to have them in your life. I believe life is too short to spend time with the wrong people.
For those of you who have always been there by my side for years, or even months, I appreciate and love you all more than you will ever know. I have been blessed to have many wonderful people experience this crazy life with me. God has been absolutely amazing to not only myself, but all of the people that I surround myself with. I am truly grateful for everyone who has made an impact on my life, whether it be good or bad. The bad experiences have taught me to be grateful for all of the good ones.
All of my wonderful, amazing, full-of-life friends, thanks for always reminding me what to expect from anyone who I may encounter in life. You all know who you are.
