Thanksgiving rolls around once a year as a reminder to people to be thankful for the things they have, their family, and everything in-between. It’s a great holiday to gorge yourself on food and remind the people around you that you love them.
But the thing is, it shouldn’t just happen on thanksgiving. You should be grateful for the things in your life every day. You should be reminding the people in your life that you love and cherish them as often as you can. Not just once a year. That’s foolish and, quite frankly, pretty rude.
The power of being mindful and happy and grateful for the things in your life can have profound benefits for the rest of your life. When you acknowledge and keep these things in your everyday life, the power of these things becomes a staple in your daily actions and thinking. The people around you appreciate it and it gives you a reason to never forget.
So, on Thanksgiving, give special thanks to the things and the people you love. But remember, that after the 25th, give thanks again. And repeat giving thanks for 365 days. It’s important and it's kind.
Maybe if we all remember the things we are thankful for more often, we’ll make a kinder society and a better world.
