San Antonio, Texas. One of the greatest cities in the best state. The home of the five-time champion winning Spurs, breakfast tacos, riverwalk and, of course, the Alamo. If you are not a San Antonio native then the following 10 unique aspects of my hometown might be a little confusing, but no worries, I am here to educate you on the 210.

1. Va Spurs Va

Yeah we say Va instead of go, what do you expect this is San Antonio for God's sake. These boys are the heart of our city, I have never seen a city love a team so much. As the rest of San Antonio I will always stand by the idea that the Spurs are the most talented and most humble team in the NBA. Mess with our boys, you mess with us. Va Spurs Va.

2. Alamo Cafe

You can't go a week without stopping by Alamo once for at least chips, queso, guac, and of course the tortillas.

3. The Alamo

Oh yes, we do remember. We will always remember the Alamo. No we don't hang out here, or go to the Alamo for dates as some foreigners may think but we do appreciate this place and understand its meaning to our city.

4. It's QUESO not cheese dip

We have authentic and real queso here in San Antonio. Our Mexican food is as close as you will get to real Mexico. This isn't some processed cheese that you squeeze out of a bag, this is heaven. You won't get it until you have it, but we are blessed to be able to eat this beautiful creation daily.

5. Breakfast tacos

I truly wonder, what do other people eat for breakfast if they are not eating a taco. Many foreigners get this confused with a burrito, a puffy taco, or a crispy taco but this is a gift from the San Antonio gods themselves. On a soft corn or flour tortilla we eat a different mixtures of potatoes, bean, eggs, bacon, cheese, sausage, barbacoa, carne guisada, and much more. We don't just eat these for breakfast we will eat them for lunch, dinner, a snack, sober, drunk, really for literally any occasion tacos are the answer. Without breakfast tacos, San Antonio would be lost. They run our city if I am being honest.

6. Fiesta

This is how we feel at the end of Fiesta but it is all worth it. This is our version of Mardi Gras. From Battle of the Flowers parade to "Night in Old San Antonio" this is by far our favorite time of the year. Viva Fiesta!

7. Tower of America

One of the prettiest views of downtown San Antonio from the elevator ride to the restaurant to the sky deck.

8. Six Flags Fiesta Texas

The all year attraction from the old wooden rattler, now made of steel, to the poltergeist that will give you whiplash people of all ages gather here for Halloween Fright Night, Christmas shows, summer days, and free concerts

9. Cascarones

We use these at Easter, Fiesta, and really just whenever we want. Who doesn't love the ongoing game of cracking cascarones on each other's heads. The only downfall is the confetti pieces that will be stuck in your hair for two weeks despite the intense effort of shampooing four times a day.

10. HEB

This is by far the cleanest and most friendliest grocery store in all of Texas but the headquarters are in San Antonio. I mean why would you shop anywhere else, HEB says "Here everything is better" and it is. Our Spurs and the coyote will prove it to you to with their hilarious commercials that we all know and love.

To you we may seem like a mini-Mexico, and we are, and we love it. I wouldn't trade being born and raised in the countdown city for anything. Va Spurs Va!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
