Dear Roommate,
Going into college, I was rushed with all sorts of emotions. I was nervous, scared, anxious, but mostly excited. I was excited to start my new life away from home, and also experience the college life. I was excited to experience all of these things with you by my side.
Now that we have been through one full semester of college, I would like to thank you for everything you have done and for being one of my best friends. Thank you for openly being nothing but kind since the beginning of the school year. It feels great coming back to the room and being greeted with kindness. Thank you for supporting me those days when emotions get the best of me. You are always there for me when I need someone to talk to, and I will do the same. It's great when both us just vent about anything going on in our lives, because we turn into each others support system.
Thank you for all of the laughs. I was nervous that going into college would be different, but you have made me laugh more than anyone. From our crazy floor, to everything else in between, you manage to make me laugh more than ever. Thank you for being a "mom" and making me stay on top of all my assignments and studying. Thank you for always persuading me to not skip class just because I'm a little tired.
Now that I have looked back on our first semester, I can say we are pretty similar. And it's amazing to be able to say your roommate is so much like you, and still remain great friends. So many people I know hate their roommate in college, but I am so thankful to have a roommate like you, because there is nothing but laughter and kindness between us. I can fully say I have lucked out on having one of the best roommates during my college experience. You made me not as nervous to get through the first semester of college and complete it with tons of positivity.
Now that our first semester is over, we can look forward to our second. I'm so excited to complete freshman year with you, and all the amazing memories ahead. I can't wait for those fun weekends of going out and walking in the freezing cold, but the fun memories made are worth it. I can't wait to tackle second semester with the best roommate. Thank you for all that you have done for me, and I can't wait ti finish off the school year.
From,
Your Roommie
