Dear Boyfriend,
I didn't expect to come to college and find someone like you. You were charming, handsome, charismatic, and the funniest person I had ever met. You went to my high school's rival school and who would have thought that we'd meet 500 miles away from home? I knew from the start you were something special and after two years my feelings haven't changed.
Thank you for keeping me sane.
You know I'm a basket case when it comes to school and stress and planning ahead. You know how to calm me down and get me to relax when I really need it. If it wasn't for you, I would be living in a world constantly filled with panic attacks and stress.
Thank you for knowing me better than I know myself.
You know every single thing about me and I like to think I know every single thing about you. You know my favorite foods, music, stores, pair of shoes, nightly routine, schedule, the list goes on and on. You know what I need when I don't even realize I need it.
Thank you for always supporting me.
My life is hectic. We both have very different schedules and I know that it's hard for us to spend a lot of time together. No matter how often I get to spend time with you outside of class, you support me and my commitments. You support my ideas and opinions and are always there when I need advice.
Thank you for not complaining about taking pictures with me.
I know I like to take a lot of pictures and need to make sure I have the perfect picture. Thank you for putting up with me when my hair is messed up or when I'm facing the bad side and I make you retake a picture 20 more times.
Thank you for holding my hand.
You hold my hand in real life and hold my hand through my problems and struggles. You keep my hand warm in the snow while we're ice skating and hold my hand when something bad happens. You hold my hand in a crowded bar when I get anxious and when I am waiting to hear news about an interview. Holding your hand (figuratively and literally) makes me feel safe and I can't thank you enough for that.
Thank you for not judging me.
I know I'm a weirdo. I have weird quirks and weird routines. I do weird things and think I'm funny when in reality I'm just being stupid. I cry over stupid things and think that minor setbacks are the end of the world. Thank you for loving me through my weirdness and not judging me for ordering off of the kids menu.
Thank you for letting me be one of the boys.
We started off as friends and I'm happy to say that that aspect of our relationship hasn't changed. You still let me hang out with you and the boys and wouldn't think twice about it. Although we were all friends before we started dating, nothing within the friendships we have have changed because of our relationship and I am eternally grateful for that.
Thank you for loving my quirks.
I have a lot of quirks. I'm slightly OCD and too Type A for my own good. I like to sleep too much and I like to wear my retainer and sleep with my baby doll. You accept my quirks and think they're cute. You let me be my weird self and don't think twice about it.
Thank you for making me so happy.
Being with you has brought a great deal of happiness into my life. My outlook on life has become much more positive and I constantly wonder how I got so lucky. You make me the happiest girl in the world, even when you're not trying.
Thank you for trusting me.
I know it's hard to open up to people but you have completely opened up to me and I have completely opened up to you. Finding someone you can 100% trust is a gift, and you're the best gift of them all.
Thank you for surprising me.
You never cease to amaze me. Whether it's bringing me a chocolate chip muffin, having flowers waiting for me at my front door, or remembering my dog's birthday. Your character is amazing and your surprises fill my life with joy.
Thank you for being my best friend.
With everything we've been through, I'm proud to say that you are my best friend. It's pretty awesome to be taking on so many life events and memories with someone who means so much to me.
Facebook might say that you're my boyfriend, but you're so much more than that to me. You're my nugget, my breakfast buddy, my Prince Charming, my cheerleader, my advice giver, and most importantly, my best friend. I can't imagine my life with anyone else.
