Dear Random Strangers,
Thank you for being a constant in my life. That might sound strange, seeing as how I will most likely never see any of you again, and I do not know any of your names, but there is always some random person who affect my life in unimaginable ways.
I do not know where you live, what you do for a living, or even your names, but I want to thank you for constantly surprising me in life.
I want to thank you all for giving me faith in humanity when I need it and for the little boosts of self-esteem when I really need it.
To the lady in the grocery store who complimented my disastrous, curly hair; to the couple at the country concert I attended this summer who were incredibly sweet and protective; to the guy who complimented my $15 holey sweater; and to those who I may not even remember, thank you for doing what you do.
Thank you for making my days brighter, my nights longer, and my attitude/self-esteem much better.
It is true that one small act of kindness can go a long way and can change someone’s life in a way you might never know. You all will never know how important a role you have and continue to play in my life, how many barriers you have helped me break through, and how much you have helped me to love myself and others.
The fact that I will most likely never meet you again or even see you all again has been crossing my mind for some time now. It is an unbelievably depressing feeling that I will never see you again, but I hope that you might continue to spread your joy and infectious spirits to other people who might be in need of a friendly face.
So, in order to mend that gap and resolve my issues with the way the world works, I want to thank you all officially, Now I realize that none of you actually even know I am talking about you, but my hope is that others will learn to spread kindness everywhere they go, because there are people who not only truly appreciate it but truly need it.
The world plays a mysterious game with us, and I am constantly intrigued to discover what it will do next with my life. I thank you for all that you do, and I hope that one day I might learn your name(s).
Sincerely,
Your Fellow Stranger
