A Thank You Letter To My Forever Friend

Dear forever friend,

Thank you for being my rock.

Because without you, I would have never gotten a hold of my anxiety. I would have never stopped crying over my ex boyfriends. I would never have passed any of the sociology tests senior year. I would have never gotten through high school without you. And now comes college and you still continue to keep me grounded.

Thank you for just getting it.

You always know when I'm secretly angry or when I'm just not in the mood. You know when I don't feel comfortable. You always know when I want to cry. You get when I need to leave a situation. You always know when I just want to stay in and not go out to a party. You just get me.

Thank you for the ice cream.

Because when something bad happens, you're always at my doorstep with half melted ice cream and open arms. You know ice cream solves all problems.

Thank you for the smiles.

You're never not smiling and I forever admire you for that. You always try to keep that smile on your face through the good and the bad. You know that a smile will always help.

Thank you for the pep talks.

We all need them, but you give the best ones. First days of high school, first day of work, first day of college classes, whatever the situation you always knew how to make it less stressful. You knew exactly what to say, whether it was in person or over a text with too many emojis.

Thank you for loving my flaws.

You will always tell me I look pretty and you will always genuinely mean it. You will be honest and tell me the shirt doesn't fit right, but offer to lend your favorite one to me instead. You know when I feel bad about my body and you offer to take my mind off of it by going to the gym or getting pizza because every body is beautiful.

Thank you for being you.

You have been my friend since day one. You are someone I will be friends with forever. You always know the right things to do and say, and for that I thank you. I thank you for being who you are, my rock and my support. I thank you for knowing everything about me and still loving me. I thank you for being the person who I can trust with my life. I thank you for being you. I love you forever.
