College is a funny place to be; it's a lot like preschool actually. Most of the time you're confused because you don't know what's going on, and all you want is your mom. Lucky for some people, like me, you get a good group of friends to carry you through what most like to call the best years of your life. Soon enough you'll start to realize that these people you just met are going to be your friends for life. Before you know it, you'll be living together, whether they're your assigned roommate or not, and they'll be the ones who are there for you when you think nobody else is. One thing you should always do and make sure you never forget, is to always thank them for no matter what.
Thank you for accepting me.
As you all have become well aware by now, I'm not always the easiest person to handle. You guys know, more than anyone else, just how crazy, emotional, stressed out, and loud I can be at all times throughout the day. I'm sure there have been many points in time where you've asked yourselves why you're still friends with me, but not once have any of you decided to leave. All of you have seen me at my worst, and yet you're still right by my side when I need you. There have been so many times this year, I honestly don’t know what I would have done if I did not have you all here with me.
Thank you for supporting me.
All of you come to every home game I have to give me my own cheering section in the stands. You make me feel loved and that I truly have found people I can trust away from home. It's amazing when you look up in the middle of a game and see all of your best friends sitting there cheering for you to do your absolute best. None of you have even the slightest idea what it means to me to have you guys in my life. Even if it's not a game, I know you're all there for me no matter what. Even if I do have at least one mental breakdown a week because of homework or whatever the reason may be, I know I always have someone to count on to be there for me when I'm with anyone of you.
Thank you for giving me a family away from home.
We each play a role in our friend group, and it kind of merged us into a family whether we had wanted it to or not. Sure, we fight and sometimes get into occasional wrestling matches, but it never changes our friendship. They say the friends you'll make in college are the ones you'll have for life. Well, if that's true, then I feel like I'm pretty damn excited for the future we have ahead of us. There's no doubt in my mind you'll all be standing with me on graduation day four years from now, along with every day in between.
I never thought I would be this blessed to have such an amazing group of people with me to experience the next four years of my life. I can’t think of anybody I would rather share this experience with, and I am beyond grateful I get to share it with all of you. Thank you for everything you have and continue to do for me. I really don't know how or if I would be getting through this journey without you guys.
