Dear Soul Sisters,

Coming to college, I didn’t know what to expect. Everyone always says that college is the time of your life, and you meet your lifelong friends in college. Well, I couldn’t agree more. You all have made such a huge impact in my life in the last year. There are a hundred more reasons why I should be thankful, but these are the moments that have changed my life for the better.

Thank you for the endless laughs.

In all my life, I never thought I would laugh so hard at some the most ridiculous things. You, my friends, have never failed to make my day.

Thank you for showing me that there is nothing better than a good cry and a bottle of wine.

Whether it was the exam last class, the girl that won’t do her end of the project, or the boy that broke my heart a year ago - you have taught me that it’s okay. A cry and a glass of wine is the best stress reliever, or cure, to any problem.

Thank you for showing me that some secrets are just better told.

In the last year, there were many embarrassing moments, but we realized who cares. We won’t judge. We have realized that secrets mean nothing if they aren’t told.

Thank you for all your clothes and accessories.

I always stressed about not bringing enough clothes to college. But now, I not only have my wardrobe, but multiple. It never fails when it is time to dress up for a presentation or a night out on the town. I am usually sporting one of your shirts, pants, jewelry, bra, or all 4.

Thank you for always making me a better person.

You have all supported me through so much in the last year. I am honestly a better person with all of you in my life because without any of you, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.

Thank you for the nights that turned into mornings.

Whether we are up talking until wee hours of the morning (because every night is a slumber party), or we somehow forget how to catch a bus or get a ride back to our apartment late at night - you guys make it all worth it. Those are nights we will never forget.

Thank you for showing me that I am never alone.

Moving away from home has been one of the biggest challenges of my life, but you all have made it easier. Our support for each other is endless, and that is something I could never thank you enough.

Thank you for teaching me how to apologize and truly mean it.

Living with all of you has been nothing less than adventure. Not every day is perfect or easy, but you have made me realize that it is okay to make mistakes. It is okay to mess up but then apologize because life will go on.

Thank you for teaching me that quality is more important than quantity.

You all have made such a difference in my life, but the biggest has been that a few great friends mean so much more than a lot of fake friends. You may only have known me for a short while, but you will be in my life the longest. I will forever be thankful because you made me realize that you are the people I want by my side when it’s my first day of my career, or the first day of the rest of my life with the man of my dreams.

Best of all, thank you for my friends that easily turned into family.

I don’t know what I would do without you girls. You have made my life complete, and I am so unsure how I survived this long without you.

The best is yet to come.

Love you all more than you will ever know.

Sincerely,

A friend forever.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
