A Thank You Letter To The People No Longer In My Life

Life is filled with ups and downs, and along the way, we may meet some people who make it all worthwhile, and some who may make us want to rip our hair right from our heads. We may meet people who we think will stay in our lives forever, but then realize that they will leave as quickly as they arrived. Although breakups are never fun, whether they are with boyfriends/girlfriends, friends or even family members, we may often look back and realize that we went through these things for a reason.

You had to meet those people for a reason, no matter how badly they hurt you or how “miserable” they may have made you, this was done as part of a bigger plan. It may be hard to comprehend when it happens, but looking back afterwards it is easy to see that sometimes we need to meet people and experience the hardships that may arise, for many reasons. So to all of the people who have left me on my wonderful journey through life, this is for you; thank you.

Thank you for showing me the type of people I don;t need in my life, and for showing me who I truly deserve.

I don’t deserve anyone in my life who is going to make it anything less than great, and thank you for showing me that. When I met you, you may have seemed like this great person who I absolutely needed in my life, but I soon learned that this was not true at all. I do not need anyone who is going to bring me down, or someone I cannot fully trust. Because that is exactly what relationships are about, trust. So to the friends and boys who have showed me just how careful to be with my trust, thank you. You have shown me the type of people I truly want and need in my life, and the people I do not deserve to give myself to in any type of way.

Thank you for helping me experience hard times, because now I can truly appreciate the good times.

I honestly believe that it is important for everyone to go through hard times, and to be stabbed in the back and/or betrayed. This only gives us an extremely important life lesson; watch who you surround yourself with, and appreciate those who are true to you. Being screwed over by an important person in your life is traumatic, yet it has helped me figure out myself in a deeper way than I had ever thought possible. So to the people who have betrayed me and made me feel like I was hopeless at some point in my life, thank you. Because of you, I now know who I am truly deep down, and I know what I want in life and who I want to surround myself with. Thank you for helping me appreciate the positive things that occur in my life, because now I am that much more grateful for them than before.

Thank you for helping me find myself.

With your help, I now know exactly who I am, and who I strive to become. By losing you, you have helped me find myself, and that is the greatest gift of all. I would have never gotten to where I am now in my life without your help because everything you did to me has led me to where I am now. To the friends who have stabbed me in the back, thank you for bringing me to my wonderful group of friends that I now have. To the boys who have treated me like I was worthless -- thank you for showing me the type of relationship I truly to deserve. Thank you for helping me create this wonderful life that I now am able to live and enjoy to its fullest because without your help I would have never taken the paths that it took to arrive here.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
