College is one of the most complicated, yet best times of our life. It is the time where it is okay to go out the night before a huge exam, while not getting any sleep the night before, and still make it to class at 11 a.m. It is the time where you have to decide what the heck you want to do for the rest of your life. It is very complicated, but when I look back on my college years, one thing that I am so thankful for it is for my sorority sisters. No matter what, those were the girls that had my back and were always there to support me. Don’t get me wrong, having the chance to get to know 155 girls on a deeply personal level is beyond difficult, but the one thing that made each and every one of them so special to me were the secrets and the bond that we all shared.
To learn those things which will ever enrich and ennoble our lives.
My sisters taught me so much throughout my collegiate years that I will be forever thankful for. They showed me what true sisterhood and friendship meant and they showed me that no matter where I go in life, I’ll never be alone. When I was going through one of the toughest times of my life my sisters were the ones that supported me the whole way through. The love and support these women have shown me have given me the strength to overcome many obstacles in my life.
To prepare for service and learn the nobility of serving, thereby earning the right to be served.
Without my sorority I would have never learned the importance of giving back to my community and giving my service to the world. The passion that my sisters have toward our philanthropy is truly beautiful, and it taught me to love my organization more than I already did. They taught me that life is short and things can happen in the blink-of-an-eye and that it’s important to live life to the fullest every day. Not only did my sorority teach me the nobility of serving for my community, it taught me leadership within my chapter. Having positions on PC and EC were definitely highlights of my experience. If it weren’t for a few sisters believing in me and encouraging me to get involved, I would have never applied for positions in my chapter. Without them, I would have never felt the success of winning Homecoming my junior year, becoming Historian for my chapter, and I would have never gone to our National Convention. They helped me grow not only as a chapter member but also as a woman.
Sister snaps
Whether it was heart-to-hearts or study sessions in the library, these women helped me become the woman I am today. Not only were my sisters there for the hard times in my life, they were there for the wild and fun times. I owe my sisters many many sister snaps for all the adventurous nights we had. I can’t thank my Big, Twin, Little Sis, and G Little enough for all the stuff they have done for me throughout my time in my sorority. Without them, my whole experience in my sorority would not have been as amazing as it was. My sorority gave me my best friends and the women that I know that will continue to be in my life forever. They are the ones that turned any situation into an unforgettable memory. Laughing in the chapter, getting up on the chair because boys brought us pizza into the meeting, and Retreat every summer are a few of the times I’ll cherish forever.
Love, the greatest of all things.
I am grateful to know that there will always be a sister by my side no matter where I go in life. The amount I’ve learned from my sisters has made going into the real world a little less scary and a lot more exciting. I know that I am never alone and I know that they will always be the ones there with a helping hand. Thank you Zeta Tau Alpha for bringing these women into my life. The love that I have for all my sisters will last forever. Near or far, this sisterhood is for life and I will never forget the most important thing that I learned during my time in ZTA, and that was that love is truly the “greatest of all things.”
