Thank you for being the best brothers I could ask for.

A Thank You Letter To My Older Brother's Friends

It's no secret every sister wants the older brother that is going to look after her and make sure she's ok. Brothers are like safety nets for sisters. They give you someone to always rely on when things aren't going your way. If you're lucky like me, your older brother has friends who are basically your family. I couldn't be more grateful for all of you.

I don't think just saying thank you could do justice for what you guys have done for me. You gave me a bigger family than I could have ever hoped for. That's something I will never forget. Thank you for having my back through high school and college. I remember walking into the first day of high school knowing I had all my brothers there to get me where I needed to go.

I know you always looked out for me as if I was your own sister. Not everyone gets a blessing like that. Thank you for not treating me like I'm the little sister that just bugs everyone. Thank you for letting me be friends with you guys and making me feel included. My brother is one of my favorite people in the whole world, and the fact I was able to be apart of his friends was a big deal for me. You never treated me like I didn't belong and you always looked at me as if I was family too.

Thank you for being my family. Coming to visit you guys is always the highlight of any weekend. I plan out when I can go visit next because it's always a good time being around you guys. Thank you for letting me hang out with you guys, and be apart of your friend group for a little while. You guys have turned out to be some of my best friends.

Thank you for being my brothers. Thank you for always having my back and always looking out for me even if that meant counting strikes against guys because they did something wrong. I can always count on you guys to tell me if there is something wrong with a guy. There are few people I would rather spend my weekends with than you guys. You are my favorite people to spend my time with and I don't see that changing any time soon.

Thank you for always letting me come visit and intrude on your plans. I know it's not super cool to have a little sister hanging around, but you guys have always welcomed me with open arms.

From sledding down hills on polar bear sleds to being the only people to celebrate my 21st birthday with me, you guys have always been there for me. I couldn't be more thankful that my brother met people like you. He may think he gained some pretty great friends, but the truth is I gained some pretty great brothers.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
