I met you the day before I turned 19. It was a warm spring day with a cloudless deep blue sky. And you drove by on your motorcycle. I noticed you. When you turned the corner I was disappointed, but I did not expect anything from a stranger. Then you turned around and passed me again! At the time I did not know that you had missed your turn because you were looking at me. You ended up pulling up to the sidewalk. And I asked you if you had another helmet. I know, it was definitely crazy because I knew nothing about you. I took a chance, and I ended up falling madly in love with you. Almost three years later I want to say to you, "thank you" for being one of the best decisions of my life.
I think it's safe to say that we all have someone in our lives that we love deeply, without hesitation. And you're that person to me. I want to say thank you for just being there. You answer my call when it's late and inconvenient. I know that I can drive to your place in the middle of the night and talk to you if I've had the worst day of my life and I just want someone to hold me.
Thank you for being an inspiration. You follow your dreams, and you're one of the hardest workers I know. You inspire me to follow my dreams and my passions. You encourage me to do anything that I want to do. You don't hold me back in life, and I can't thank you enough for that. You make me a better person.
Thank you for never walking away angry. Even if I have aggravated and frustrated you, you don't let your anger get the best of you, and you make sure we don't leave each other in a bad mood.
Thank you for laughing uncontrollably with me. Thank you for running to the ferry just to give me a cup of coffee, even if half of it spilled out because you were running too fast.
Thank you for putting thought into my birthday and our anniversary and other special days because I know that's not always easy. Thank you for telling me I'm beautiful without any makeup on.
Thank you for always holding my hand when we walk down the street. And thank you for giving me your coat when I'm freezing.
Thank you for being dependable, strong, honest, diligent, calm, understanding and supportive.
If someone were to tell me that I would one day fall in love with a stranger who passed me on his motorcycle, I would have told them that they were out of their mind. But I fall more in love with you everyday, and I thank God you drove by that warm spring day a few years ago. Thank you for being such an amazing friend to me.
