The spring semester is coming to a close with the hopes of graduating and the relief of summer. I personally had a particularly tough semester with a heavy course load, which made the end of the semester seem so far away. I blinked... and summer is here! I have moved back home with my parents. I have only been home for a little over 24 hours now, but I already miss my roommates. You all have been there for me during my toughest and brightest times, and for that, I will always be grateful. I know this thank you article does not thank you all sufficiently, but I am going to try anyways.
Thank you for teaching me euchre.
I know two of you have been pros since you were little; I thank you for teaching the other half who as never heard of the card game! I know I still make silly mistakes, but playing late night euchre tournaments between us has been a fond memory for me this semester. I will be practicing over the summer to sharpen my skills! Here's to next semester with long nights and getting farmer's hands!
Thank you for being my therapists.
I went through a lot of personal stuff throughout the year and I was able to get through it because of you. I knew you all would give me the honest truth. It was something I not always wanted to hear, but something that I needed to hear. I know I made dumb mistakes and I cannot thank you enough for dealing with me! Thank you for being patient with me and letting me know when I was being stupid.
Thank you for spontaneous adventures.
Though our schedules were so busy this past year, we always made time to enjoy each other's company. Whether that was going to the Milwaukee Zoo on a free zoo day, to running to the PIT (Pioneer Indoor Terrace) to get pints of Ben and Jerry's while watching Grey's Anatomy, to going to the movies. I would never have defined myself as a spontaneous individual, but after this year, I would redefine myself. You all taught me to let go of my anxieties and go with the flow. Some of our best memories were when we randomly decided to do something spur of the moment!
Thank you for being my friends.
All of you made my year unforgettable. We went from sorority sisters to friends, and I cannot imagine my life without you guys in it. I know if I called any one of you, you would be there for me and vice versa. You were all the voice of reason I sometimes needed to hear, the shoulder to cry on and the force to push me to be a better version of myself. I know I can be completely myself with you guys. From all of us crying over Grey's Anatomy to all of us yelling "I made FAJITAS" in the kitchen trying to imitate Ross Geller from FRIENDS. I cannot wait to see where life will take us!
Thank you for being my roommates!
