Looking back to high school it definitely had its up and downs. There were good days and bad days. When I think about high school and all of the memories I took away from it, I can’t imagine how I could have survived without my best friends. They always had my back. They made me laugh and always cheered me up when I was sad. Even though we have all gone our separate ways, we still stay in contact and we are all still best friends. There aren’t enough words to describe how much my high school friends mean to me, but I am going to try anyway.
Thank you for being my friend. I remember when I met each one of you. Whether it was at an assembly, in math class or in theater, I am so lucky we were all there at the same time. Friendship is a big deal in my life and you all have never let me down. Thank you for all the support and advice you all gave me. I have taken every piece of advice each of you has given me, and I still carry it with me throughout life.
When boys were mean to me or I wasn’t asked to the homecoming dance, you all made sure I still went and had a good time. I didn’t really need a date because I had all of my best friends by my side.
Thank you for all the sleepovers. Even though I somehow always ended up on the floor, it didn’t matter because we always stayed up all night laughing.
Thank you for inviting me to the parties each one of you had. Even though the popular kids never invited me, I would always be invited to my friends' parties. And I'm glad because they were better anyways.
Thank you for all the group messages. There is no one else I feel more comfortable sending embarrassing pictures to.
I learned something different from each of you. You are all unique in your own ways and that is what makes you all so special to me.
Fallon: Please don’t forget about me when you become a famous fashion designer. If I ever need fashion advice I know exactly who to go. You know where all the great deals are. If it wasn’t for you in my life, my wardrobe would not exist.
Kendall: Thank you for being the funny one of the group. You have the best jokes and are a joy to be around.
Alex W.: I remember when we met junior year. We struggled through math together and always cheated off each other. You make the funniest faces that always make us all laugh.
Catrina: You taught me how to man up. Even though I am still a wimp sometimes, I learned how to toughen up from you. Whenever I was scared to do anything in high school, you told me to just do it. I will never forget our senior trip when I climbed around a balcony to get to your room because our chaperones locked everyone's doors.
Victoria: We really became close our senior year of high school. You are so real and so genuine and I am so happy we met. I have never met anyone who loves dogs and cats as much as you.
Alex T.: To be honest when I first met you, I was scared. Then we both got to know each other and you are great. You tell it how it is and don’t care what anyone else thinks, something I wish I could be better at.
Paloma: We have been friends the longest. You are the doctor of the group. You always answer everyone’s medical questions, especially mine. When I am unsure about makeup, I know I can go to you for help. You give me advice on fashion, boys and life.
I know there were time when we had our fights or we did not all agree, but that doesn’t matter because we made it through so much together. There aren’t a lot of people who can say they had a solid group of friends through high school that all still stay in touch in college.
You all are such an inspiration to my life. I love each one of you. I have learned something different from every single one of you. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world that we all still stay in touch and talk daily. I can’t wait until we all reunite this summer. I miss you all and I can’t wait to you soon!
Sincerely,
Your friend Michelle
