1. The return of “Sweater Weather”
For all of us girls out there, there’s nothing better than whipping out our comfiest sweaters, a pair of leggings, and walking through the crisp fall air.
2. The Holiday Season is Approaching
With October just beginning, it is already time to start choosing your halloween costumes, and look forward to that blessed day of the year with costumes and candy aplenty. A few short weeks later is Thanksgiving, the national holiday of eating (I can’t think of anything better) shortly followed by all of our favorite winter holidays.
3. Pumpkin Spice
Not just starbucks lattes my friends! There is nothing like the smell of a pumpkin spice candle permeating, and the seasonal pumpkin custards that ice cream shops offer are not to be missed.
4. Halloween Movies
Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Twitches and all our other favorite childhood movies resurface, and it is the perfect opportunity to get in touch with your inner Disney-loving child. Of course, for the more mature halloween audience, there are definitely some far scarier non-disney channel halloween movies available for viewing.
5. Fall Fun
Pumpkin Patches, Apple Picking, Hay rides, and corn mazes all scream fall. Whether you enjoy these seasonal activities with a special someone or a large group of friends, they always make for a fun day.
6. The leaves turn technicolor
Before the leaves fall to the ground in preparation for the cold months of winter, they change bright shades of red, orange and yellow that make for a far more enjoyable drive to work, and can lead to to lots of fun fall photoshoots with friends.
7. The Temperature is Just Right
Not 90 degrees and humid like August, fall comes in with a refreshing cool breeze, and we happily wrap up in our sweaters in scarves, enjoying the crisp air before two weeks into winter when we are begging for summer again.
8. Friday Night Football (and sometimes Saturday, Sunday, and Monday)
Whether in highschool or college, there is nothing like the rush of standing in the bleachers with a few hundred of your closest friends, screaming out cheers and exhibiting your school spirit. Even once out of college, there is always professional football to watch in the comfort of your own home, equipped with snacks and the comfort of the indoors.
9. Pies
Who said pies have to just be on Thanksgiving? We have a whole season dedicated to enjoying these yummy desserts, why not take advantage of it as much as possible? Pumpkin, Apple, Pecan- just pick your poison.
10. New beginnings
Fall is the start of a new schoolyear, a new season, and a new beginning for many. It is the chance we have been waiting for all year to promise ourselves that we will be better than our past selves, and fall gives us that official opportunity to make that promise.
