1. You can’t control everything.

As much as we would like to be able to control everything that happens in our life, it’s just not possible. Curveballs are going to constantly be thrown at us and rather than stressing about it, you have to learn to just take things one step at a time.

2. It’s okay to be selfish.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with putting yourself first from time to time. While it’s a great thing to take care of others, you also have to take care of yourself.

3. You will drift apart from close friends.

Sometimes life gets crazy and you get pulled in separate directions. But that doesn’t mean that you don’t still care about them.

4. It’s okay to cut people out of your life.

Don’t feel guilty about cutting toxic people out of your life. No matter who they are, you do not need to make time for people who have hurt you.

5. Don’t let money control your life.

While obviously money is important, don’t let it completely control your life. Your time and how you spend it will always be more valuable than money.

6. Enjoy the little things.

Enjoy the little things in life, they could turn out to be a lot bigger than you think.

7. Don’t worry about what other people think.

Don’t let the fear of what others might think stop you from being who you are. People will love you for who you are, and those are the only people who truly matter.

8. It’s important to be able to let go.

Dwelling on things that did not go your way will only make you feel worse. It’s important to be able to shrug it off and keep moving forward.

9. Don’t be afraid to speak your mind.

Your opinion does matter and you don’t need to be scared to voice it.

10. Life is not a race.

We only get one life and our time is limited. Enjoy every moment and don’t rush through it. You don’t want to look back on your life and wonder why you spent so much of it wishing something else was happening or that you were more successful than you were in that moment. Someday you will be exactly where you are meant to be and doing exactly what you are meant to be doing. But don’t rush to find that someday. It will come when the time is right. Until then, enjoy the moment that you are living in now.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
