:If you're anything like me, half of your summer will be spent texting your friends and having the following conversation:
Honestly though, a majority of the conversations you'll have with your buddies about going out to do something will consist of this exact exchange. Well, I'm here to help you. I put my wonderful brain to work and I came up with a list of ten exciting and unusual plans for you to use to spice up your summer months. So without further ado...
1. Cliff Jumping: This is one for the more courageous souls out there, but trust me, if you're scared, try it just once and you'll be dying to go back. There are a whole bunch of different places for you to try this, regardless of where you're from, trust me. Just try and make sure that its safe BEFORE you jump.
2. Buy a Kayak: Seriously, one of the best investments I could have ever made (shoutout: Alex Binczyk.) Kayaks are relatively cheap and you can find them for sale all over the place. They're easy to transport and use, and with a little effort, they will take you anywhere. They can even take you...
3. Rope Swinging: Get there on your kayak, or drive there if you can. This is another activity that might be a little scarier for some, but again, so worth it. Just make sure you on't hang on too long.
4. Water Adventure Parks: These can be a little pricey, so they aren't my first choice, but man are they a blast. I went to Brownstone Park a couple weeks back and it was INSANELY fun. Like cliff jumping, zip-lining, huge water inflatables. Anything you wanted, they had it. Check it out or look for one in your area.
5. Rent a Bounce House/Waterslide: Yeah this is a little selfish, promoting the company I work for, again (cc: Party Patrol,) but really, like I'll even set it up for you. The units are so much fun. Go for the waterslides if you can, especially in the summer, and just get drunk and roll with it.
6. Camping: Maybe this is more thought of, but I feel like younger folks don't have this thought cross their mind too much. A couple nights at a state park are relatively cheap. I'm going this summer, maybe twice, and its going to be a blast. Escape from the world of phones and always being connected for a few days and just relax with the homies and find true relaxation again.
7. Have a Picnic: This follows the same path as camping, but it literally costs no money to pack a dinner and have a good night with your friends/significant other. Guys especially, you'll score some major points.
8. Go Zip-lining: Such a great adventure to spend your day doing. They can get pretty extreme and you will definitely want more after your day is done.
9. Drive-In Movie: It seems old-timey, but tell me it wouldn't be great to sit in the bed of your truck and watch The BFG or The Conjuring 2. You can't because it absolutely would be awesome.
10. Go Fishing: Seriously. Go. Even if you never have. Go. Its a game of patience and there is a little technique to it, but it can be a great way to relax and spend a nice summer day. Please go fishing.
I hope this helps job some minds and give ideas for even more summer activities. Go sky-diving, or to the beach, or whale watching, or on a hike, or a cross country trip. Just get out there and enjoy it. Make up an idea if you have to, but enjoy it while you can.
