Take a deep breath in. Okay, now a deep breath out. There you go. Now, shout WOO HOO! Repeat as necessary.
This is what I was thinking about as I was waiting in my car for the first day back at college. My first day at Missouri State University. I haven't been in college in a year and a half. I've been trying to get my life together and focusing on other things.
On my way there, I was listening to songs that would get me hyped and hopefully out the anxious mood I was in.
Some days you feel as if the world is against you. Some years can feel like that too. You have to stop thinking about all these negative things or the things that you think are holding you back. Look at your goal. Get there. Do the thing. Are there things in your way? Possibly. But do everything in your power to get through your obstacles and achieve your goal.
We can be our own worst critics but at the end of the day, look at all the things you've accomplished. No matter how small you think they are. Little by little you'll get to where you need to be. Never stop thinking about what you want.
Honestly, I never thought I would go back to college. I thought my days learning and achieving what I wanted was over. After my second class of the day, I looked around and realized...I made it. I did the thing. I stopped looking at my obstacles and took a leap into something I wanted.
That's when I took a deep breath in, and out. All my worries went away. All that matters is what I'm doing to better myself. I made it this far and I am stronger than I've ever been.
Right now maybe you aren't in a good place mentally, physically or emotionally. It's okay to take some time away from things. That being said, don't forget about your goal. Realize that you're taking a minor break to work on yourself so that way you're fully ready to start working your way to achieve what you want.
Take a deep breath in, deep breath out. Now go do the thing!
