As soon as all of the boxes are packed and loaded onto the truck then that is when every freshman knows that their life at home is over. Once all of the boxes are unloaded into the new dorm room and the parents take off, that is when their life as college students truly begin. After that, it is all about trying to get to class on time, getting all of the assignments finished, and taking naps every second of the day. Even though it may sound unfulfilling and mundane, it is actually quite enriching.

However, every paradise has its secret dark side. Many students cannot cope with the stress of the work and hours that come with college life. Sometimes it gets so bad that they end up dropping out their first or second year. College is what really separates the men from the boys, so to speak, and the first year is the major decider for all freshman. The first year is meant to provide newcomers with the chance to either continue or back out and reconsider their options for the future.

That being said, there is a hope to be found. Many freshman will not realize it right away, but there are plenty of devices metaphorically speaking, that can be used to help cope with any stress that they may receive. These tips are not like the kind that self-promoting motivational speakers try to pass off. These are tips that are simple and easy for all incoming freshman to relate to.

These are the tips that can help college freshman;

1. Make plenty of friends: Friends have always been able to the emotional rock that we cling to when in times of need. Whatever friends you make can offer advice and be a shoulder for you to lean on and cry on if need be.

2. Get plenty of rest: The best decisions are made with a clear head. A long nap or a good night's sleep can be very beneficial in restoring a calm mind.

3. Take a break every now and then: There is no doubt that getting all of your work done is important, but making sure that you do not get overworked is important as well. Make sure that you make some time for yourself. Go to a party, log onto Facebook, go and get your nails done, as long as relax and get away for a while.

4. Avoid from taking a full time job: While it may be nice to benefit from a full time salary, a part time job can be less stressful than full time.

These tips are here so that you do not have to ski through college as stressed and frazzled as a single mother trying to juggle more than one job. As long as you can remember these tips, the first year of college will be one of the most relaxing times of your life.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
