Summertime Quotes To Live By Beyond The Summer

Everyone loves a good inspirational and motivational quote. We all have that one quote or two that's stuck to us like glue that we can refer to when we need a pick-up during the times we need help the most. Now that summertime is nearly over, sometime we catch some of the end of summer blues. Summer is a time of relaxation, excitement, rejuvenation, and pure happiness. Summer allows us to take time away from what we normally devote all of our time to during the fall, winter, and spring (whether that's work, school, or both), and spend more time on ourselves. After a busy year, we deserve to be happy in the summer sunshine with more personal time, time spent with friends, and good food, drinks, and wild vacation destinations. As all this fun starts to slow down as August peeks around the corner, it's no wonder why we get those summer blues.

While you start to get ready for all the craziness that comes with the fall season as the summer comes to an end, remember that you can have a little piece of summer that you can look to all year round until next summer -- the perfect summer infused quotes! If you start to crave the little things that make the summer so special -- salty air, ocean breezes, time spent in bare feet, outdoor gatherings, waves crashing on the shoreline, the late sunsets and early sunrises -- hold onto these quotes, and let them stick to you to help you live as free as the sea throughout all the seasons of the year. Don't let the summer blues get you down. Wave good-bye to the summer season, and begin to look forward to all the exciting new things to come in the fall, winter, and spring with these empowering yet summer vibe-filled quotes:

"One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach. One can collect only a few, and they are more beautiful if they are few" - Anne Morrow Lindbergh

"Work like a captain, play like a pirate." - Unknown

"Waves are inspiring not because they rise and fall, but because each time they fall they never fail to rise again." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The cure for anything is salt water; sweat, tears, or the sea." - Isac Dinesen

"Not all stars belong to the sky." - Unknown

"A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

"Life has a way of testing our anchors and tempting us to drift. Nevertheless, if our anchors are correctly placed in the rock of our redeemer, they will hold no matter the force of the wind, the strength of the tide, or the height of the waves." - Dieter F. Lichtdorf

"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf." - Jon Kabat-Zinn

"You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore." - Christopher Columbus

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
