New summer, new me? Why not? In my life I feel like it's a time of change. A time of growing and a time of truly figuring out what I want. So here's to a summer of change, and a summer of rebuilding a new me.
First, I'm going to try not to sleep in. Welcome to the real world. No one really gets a day off, and some day that's going to be me. I can get more accomplished by not sleeping in, so let's do this. Now some of you may be thinking, "What time is considered as sleeping in?" Well in my mind, no later than 8:30 to 9 a.m. That's not that bad, right?
Second, I'm going to eat better. I promise I will finally give up the ice cream and grab an apple instead. I want to cook more and eat a lot healthier. I need my health and I need to be able to last through the whole day without getting too tired. Good foods equals good moods; am I right? And you'll also feel better about yourself and that's only going to make your day even better.
Third, I'm going to exercise. Now this may not happen every day, but I'm going to try. With eating better, exercising can become easier. And once you engrave it into your routine, it just becomes natural. I want to wake up and be proud of the person in the mirror. I'm not working out to lose weight or anything, I just want to be healthy. Healthy mind equals healthy body.
Fourth, I'm going to be intentional. Intentional with what, you may ask? Well, I mean intentional with people. I love getting to hear people's stories and to know more about their lives. I want to be a good friend and be there for people. It always brings a smile to my face when someone stops what they're doing and wants to know how I am and what's going on. We all need someone to talk to, especially if right now things aren't going the way you want them to. So being intentional is important. Not only for you, but also for the people around you.
So here's to the summer of change. Here's to a new me and a new overall mindset. And I am giving you all the responsibility of making sure that I stick with all of this… I mean it! Happy summer everybody. May you all accomplish the things you put your mind to.
