Summer is the prime time for music festivals but what happens when you cannot take off work to make it to a three-day festival? You try to make it to concerts, of course! Concerts are less of a time commitment than music festivals but still give you the satisfaction of hearing your favorite artists perform live. The concerts on this list are not attached to any music festival this summer.

Ellie Goulding: Tuesday, May 10 at Express Live!

Ellie Goulding has an edgy pop sound. You may have heard one of her popular songs, "Burn." She recently performed at the Grammy Awards on February 15. Ellie Goulding also performed her cover of Elton John’s "Your Song" at the wedding reception of Prince William and Catherine Middleton at Buckingham Palace.

American Authors: Friday, May 13 at the A&R Music Bar

American Authors has a pop/indie rock sound. You may have heard their songs, "Best Day of my Life" as well as "Believer." "Believer" won the Grand Prize in the 18th Annual USA Songwriting competition.

The 1975: Sunday, May 22 at Express Live!

The 1975 is an English alternative rock band from the United Kingdom. You may have heard their songs, "Chocolate" or "Robbers." Two of the 1975’s albums have debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. The 1975 has performed on Saturday Night Live.

Cage the Elephant: Sunday, June 5 at LC Pavilon

Cage the Elephant is an American Rock band. Two of their more popular songs are: "Ain’t no rest for the Wicked" and "Cigarette Dreams." Cage the Elephant’s album "Melophobia" was nominated for a Grammy in 2015 for Best Alternative Music Album.

A$AP Ferg: Saturday, June 18 at Express Live!

A$AP Ferg is a hip hop recording artist. Some of his well-known tracks include "New Level "and "Shabba." Artists Missy Elliot, Rick Ross and Chris Brown will be featured on A$AP’s next album, set to release at the end of April.

The Neighbourhood: Wednesday, June 8 at Newport Music Hall

The Neighbourhood is an American alternative rock band, known mostly for their hit "Sweater Weather." They opened for Imagine Dragons on their 2013 tour.

Sting: Tuesday, June 21 at Nationwide Arena

Sting is currently a solo artist with elements of rock, reggae, jazz and classical within his music. "Desert Rose" and "Shape of my Heart" are two of his well-known songs. He was previously the lead singer and bass player of the Police in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Phillip Phillips: Tuesday, July 5 at Express Live!

Dave Matthews Band is an American rock band. They are known for their hits "Crash into Me" and "Where are you Going", as well as their extensive tour schedule.

Demi Lovato: Wednesday, July 27 at Schottenstein Center

Demi Lovato is a former child actress turned singer. Her current hits include "Cool for the Summer" and "Confident."
