After a weekend well spent in Arnold, I have gained a new perspective about nature. Having little to no service during the whole trip, I got to disconnect from social media for the most part, enjoyed conversations, and took time to relax in a beautiful environment.
Hiking is a great way to spend time with people, and find views that overlook cities. I recommend hiking in forest areas because it is both cool in the shade, good exercise, and a beautiful walk. Instead of being stuck inside a classroom or at work, I got to appreciate the essence of nature.
Kayaking is always a fun summer activity. This weekend I kayaked in a couple lakes and also down a river. Kayaking is another source of exercise, as well as a different way to get around. It is so relaxing and a great way to hang out with people and spark intriguing conversations.
Another way you can invest your time in nature is having lunch or a picnic in a forest area or on a lake. People are so used to eating at restaurants or at home, but it’s always refreshing to enjoy summer weather and eat meals outside. Lunch or dinner with a view is always memorable. Whether it’s at a lake, park, forest, or monument, it will make your summer memories last.
Spending time fishing and on a boat is always memorable and something to do on a day of good weather. Summertime is the perfect time to catch some fish, jump off boats, tubing, and jet skiing is an ideal way to make the most out of a summer day. If you’re camping while doing these activities, you’re really making the most of your summer.
When it comes to last minute plans, campfires, bonfires, and tanning are always popular go-to's. Although tanning can be hazardous to your skin, tanning with sunscreen can help you get a safer, less red tan. Campfires and bonfires are fun and easy to put together last minute when summer nights begin to get cold. Whether it’s a beach bonfire or forest campfire, it’s a guaranteed night of s’mores and good stories.
Next time you’re contemplating on how to spend your summer, try to get out, and enjoy what’s right outside.
