Remember in the movie Clueless when Cher had that tablet/app that showed what she could wear to school and had her entire closet on it? Well, it seems as though I have found the real-life version of this phenomenon.
Recently, I have discovered a new app called Stylebook. Stylebook is an app that enables you to put your entire closet on your smart phone or iPad. Needless to say, I'm obsessed with it.
Within the “Closet" tab of the app, your clothes are split into the typical categories like tops, bottoms, shoes, dresses, bags, accessories and outerwear. Within those categories, it breaks down a little further into more specific categories like sleeveless shirts, t-shirts, sweaters, blouses and blazers. This makes it super easy to find exactly what you're looking for within your own closet.
Along with that, you're also able to put looks together from your own clothes. Now, I know it's easy to just go into your closet and try on those pieces or hold them up together, but what happens if you're not at your apartment and you really want to see what looks well together? Or what if you're with your friends and one of them wants to borrow one of your dresses for formal? Well, you can just go on your app and show them the dress from the comfort of your iPad.
There is also a “Packing" tab on the app, which allows you the accessibility of figuring out what you want to pack on your trip without the mess. This is nice because instead of throwing your clothes all over your room deciding what to pack, you'll be able to do everything from this app. This is also extremely handy if you're short on time, because when the time comes to pack everything up, you'll already know what you need to pack.
Lastly, if you want to get very involved with this app, there are “Closet Statistics," which is another tab found within this app. This feature shows how many clothing items you own, how many items you own by category, etc. If you want to put in the price of your clothing, you can also see how much your closet is worth. You can also put information in this category like “What needs to go to the tailor" or “What needs to be thrown out" etc.
For a small price of $3.99, you too can experience the magic of this app. Since having this app, I've been able to see what I don't need to buy anymore, and what I should be buying to have a better wardrobe. I haven't been able to put all of my clothes on it; however, I am making strides to get to that point. To me, this app is a great way to keep yourself organized with your closet. I know we may forget that we may own something (I actually found a pair of shoes that I forgot that I owned while putting items onto this app), so this app is a great way to see what you have and stay organized.
