10 Songs To Throw On Your Study Playlist When You're SO Done With Finals

Finals are a bittersweet thing. On one hand, we don't want to take them or study for them. On the other hand, it's the end of the semester, and it's time to pack up. Being excited about the end of the semester can make studying one of the hardest things to focus on.

These songs will help you focus in on your work, but they still go hard. Happy listenings!

"Before I Let Go" — Beyoncé

Beyoncé surprised fans with her surprise documentary, album and it was announced that "Homecoming" was just one of three Netflix projects. Beyoncé also put "Lemonade" on Spotify for the three year anniversary. "Before I Let Go" is a throwback from Frankie Beverly and Maze and Beyonce's cover is perfect for studying, it'll keep you awake during your late nights and it's very soothing to listen to.

"Neon Moon" — Brooks and Dunn with Kacey Musgraves

'Neon Moon' is a beautiful, iconic country song-- however, Kacey Musgraves does a reboot with the legendary country duo. The song highlights Kacey's gentle vocals and it fuses country and pop. The song is a perfect addition.

"NASA" — Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande has had an amazing few months career-wise with her two albums and multiple singles. "NASA" is catchy enough that it's nice to listen to, but while you're studying you can easily focus on your work.

"I Love Your Smile" — Shanice

The 90s throwback is a great addition to your finals playlist because it's light and fun. It'll lift your spirits when you get stressed!

"Calling All My Lovelies" — Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars soothing vocals are perfect to study for, this song is very easy to listen to. Bruno Mars' falsetto really keeps you going.

"Why Are There Boundaries" — FKJ

The song is calming and soft. It could be categorized as indie and will make a great addition to your playlist.

"Butterflies" — Queen Naija

The music is easy to rock with and Queen Naija's voice is soothing to listen to. It'll get you through your studying and motivate you to keep going.

"Sandcastles" — Beyoncé

In honor of Yoncé putting "Lemonade" on Spotify and other streaming platforms it wasn't before, she has two spots on this list. "Sandcastles" is all about forgiveness and is easily in my top three from "Lemonade." The song is gentle and will allow you to focus on the work in front of you.

"A Lot" — 21 Savage ft J. Cole

This song is perfect towards the end of your studying, it'll keep you going and help you persist through your study slumps. It's not hard rap, and the flow and the beat add to a calming aura.

"Shallow" — Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper

Ending with a bang, the heavily awarded "Shallow" is an amazing song to add to your study playlist. Soft and a perfect sing-a-long, it'll keep you awake and motivated.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
