Dear Study Buddy,
Thank you for years of late nights, long study guides, and frustrated, tearful eyes. Thank you for calming my nerves, seamlessly soothing my pre-exam anxiety with positive smiles and new and inventive learning strategies. Thank you for always providing me with snacks to make it through the hard nights and for pouring the perfect cup of coffee right when I need it the most.
Thank you for pushing me to go through that study guide just one more time, every time, and for never being (noticeably) frustrated when I show up completely unprepared. Thank you for sitting in your kitchen, your living room, and various academic buildings with me as we wrestled through challenging material.
Thank you for welcoming me with open arms when I was that freshman who you barely knew and for sticking with me in every semester as our classes became progressively harder. From gen. ed. Anthropology to Social Scientific Research Methods, you were there through it all. Thanks for quizzing me, for challenging me, and for teaching me. Thanks for laughing along with me when I found the most ridiculous ways to remember the material and for being impressed when it actually worked. Thanks for letting me whine, complain, and take study breaks when I absolutely needed it.
Thanks for waking me up that time when I crashed on the couch right before our hardest exam because I spent the night cramming and just couldn't hang. Thanks for helping me decompress after it was all over and for telling me not to stress because it was behind us. Thanks for all of your original, inspiring speeches
Thanks for being my study buddy, but, even more, thanks for being my friend. Even though we have faced our (final) final exam together and you will soon move on to the classroom called real life, know that you will always ace it. Thanks for helping prepare me for all the tests that life throws at me.
All My Love,
Steph
