Struggles That You'll Only Understand If You've Ever Tried On A Romper

Struggles That You'll Only Understand If You've Ever Tried On A Romper

In case you didn't know, in the past couple years rompers have become all the rage.

They are pretty convenient, I must admit, and this is fine and all if you are the kind of person who that can wear a romper. Personally, I struggle to find a romper that I can rock and that fits me well. They look kind of like a dress, but, at the same time, they function as a pair of shorts. Much like a "skort" (skirt + shorts), a romper combines two garments into one, taking the fancy-ness that is a dress and the comfort that is a pair of good shorts. Rompers allow you to bare some skin in the hot summer months without having to worry about bending over too far all night and everyone seeing your underwear.

However, this is pretty much where the benefits of a romper end. The following is a list of reasons why we should just get rid of these garments all together.

1. You pull an amazing dress off the rack, only to find out that it is a romper.

This is a major first-world problem, I know. I think that I can speak for everyone, though, when I say that this is one of the biggest let-downs that life has to offer. You find the perfect dress, in the perfect color, and it's in your size, only to take it to the dressing room and see that the dress has shorts on the bottom because it wasn't a dress.

2. Going to the bathroom requires some assistance.

Maybe if you are the type of person who always goes to the bathroom with a gaggle of friends, so this isn't a problem. For me, however, I like to go to the bathroom alone and I don't want to have to ask some complete stranger to unzip me so that I can do my business.

3. Sizing is completely nonsensical.

I would consider myself of an "average" body type, maybe a little on the short side. The fact that I've found only one romper in my entire life that actually fits me and looks good is reflective of how messed up the sizing system of these pieces are. If your torso is too long, you'll be faced with a permanent wedgie. If it's too short, you'll be drowning in fabric. I'm not sure what body type you have to have to fit into some of the rompers that I've tried on, but kudos to you if you have it.

4. Rompers make you look like an adult baby.

Let's be honest, whoever first designed rompers got their inspiration from baby fashion. Rompers are basically the adult-sized version of the onesies that parents put their babies in so that they can change their diapers easily.

All problems aside, I can't deny the fact that some people look great in rompers. I'll keep on searching for my perfect romper. Until then, I'll continue my love/hate relationship with them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
