Ah, volleyball. No, it is not just an intense version of "don't let the ball hit the floor." Seriously, it's the best sport in the world. Every position is great (and painful), but being a libero is special, and it comes with a set of struggles that only other liberos can truly understand.

1. Being asked why you wear a different color jersey.

That's why.

2. Having your saves be overshadowed by a kill

That kill would not have been possible without my save. Just saying.

3. Being shorter than your teammates

No, I am not on the JV team.

4. Needing new knee pads at alarming rates.

Hey, Mom? Dad?

5. Bruises and Blood

Just casually hurting. Don't mind me.

6. Getting a really good save, but no one goes for it.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!

7. Loving and taking pride in your position no matter how much it hurts

Always.
