Society is changing constantly and now more than ever there is a revolution for animals rights.

I remember growing up and my parents taking me and my younger sister to the circus and the zoo. While my innocent eyes were filled with excitement and amazement, I now realize ten years later the price that had to be paid for my entertainment. I am proud to say I am not as naive as my ten-year-old self and while the memories were exciting, they were blurred with the underlying inhumane issues that still occur today.

As I grew, my love for animals grew as well and now more than ever I realize the end is coming for animal confinement. No more should wild animals be kept in cages that barely support them and on display for our entertainment. No more should victims have to get injured or die because of humanities mistake of confinement.

This is not just in the zoos and circus acts, but also in Sea World and aquariums. Animals, who by nature live in oceans, are confined to tanks and wild life, who by nature live in jungles, are confined to cages. Why? How? Just because this has been the "norm" in our society does not make it right and I am so thankful to live in a growing world where rights will be given back.

The transition began with Ringling Brothers Circus shutting down because of the deep reporting of animals abuse and my wish is that Sea World and zoos follow.

We need to put an end to this atrocious trend for multiple reasons. The animals in these cages have no rights and no life. We strip them of their very nature and instead count their freedom in feet or yards. Yet, we justify that as a society by it entertaining us, so we can get closer to wildlife without getting injured.

The irony is people are still becoming injured, or even dying. Of course, we do not blame us for these attacks we look to the animals for doing such awful things, when that is simply their nature. How many people becoming injured or killed will it take for society to understand they are wild life for a reason and are not made to be confined.

The only way to fix the brutality of animals is to start at the simplest and oldest form. We look to Facebook and other social media to read the articles of the attacks or poaching of wild life and how they are becoming extinct. We label are excuses with fear and write it off as we were trying to help them by captivity.

Thankfully our animal entertainment is shifting. New laws and regulations are in the horizon for active animals rights that will keep the animals and people safe.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
