Overflow is a worship service that takes place at Oklahoma State University at the Stillwater Life Church on Tuesday nights at 9 p.m.You always enter the building to high fives, smiles and good to see ya's! Going on into the big room to the sound of current worship music blasting and a lively atmosphere of friends and classmates discussing the week’s trials and tribulations. The clock begins to countdown the final minute so you make your way to a row of seats, the lights go out, the band takes the stage and its time to worship. Overflow is truly a place for the broken. I've been attending Overflow since the beginning of my freshman year and I got to say it does some amazing things for me.

A friend who had attended first introduced me and I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere of it all. Something that stood out to me was that the lights were out and you were unable to see the singers and band members, and why would you? They aren't there to sing for their own glory or fame but for the Lord's. What a beautiful image this presents as the whole band pours out their heart and soul into the lyrics for the audience. There is no sermon just an hour of worship, an hour of praise, an hour to let go and breathe. College is a stressful time for everyone, and to have something like this that fits a college kids schedule is so great. One of the best parts is that no matter your ability to sing whether you can sing along easily or sound like a screeching animal no one cares! The music is loud enough to drown out whatever sound you make! The power of this is that you're still praising God!

The band comprised of a few members always has a new playlist of songs each week. You can actually follow an account called Overflow This Week on Spotify that is a list of songs the band will be doing covers of for Overflow. It updates every Sunday so by Tuesday night you can know the songs if you didn't before. Although the list changes week to week Overflow always ends on with their own version of Light The Fire by Lost in Worship which is a fun upbeat song that everyone can sing and clap along too.

Overflow is just a good break in the middle of the week, while I attend a different Church on Sundays with a group of friends; I also attend Overflow with a different group of friends. It’s a good way to come together through our faith. Most of all it is a relaxer for the week and something to look forward to every Tuesday night. It helps me stay on track, I always tell myself to get everything done by 9 so I can go to Overflow as a reward! Needless to say, I love Overflow and how it presents an environment of healthy praise and love.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
