How 6 Stars Spent Their Mother's Day

This past Sunday, we celebrated some of the strongest women we know, mothers! It seemed like the whole world took to social media to pay tribute to the women that gave us life. Including some of your favorite celebs.

John Legend

New dad John Legend took to Facebook to wish his wife a happy first Mother's Day and shared an adorable pic of baby Luna.

"To my wonderful wife, Chrissy. Luna and I are so lucky to have you in our lives. If our daughter can be even half as awesome as you, I will be so happy and proud. Happy 1st Mother's Day!"

Viola Davis

The star of ABC's "How to Get Away with Murder" shared pictures with her daughter and her own mother.

"My Blessing!!!"

"To all who give, nurture, love when it isn't even deserved, put themselves second, third...last. To the multi-taskers, the dream giver up'ers, the grievers, the prayer warriors, the MOTHERS.....Happy happy day to you. God has anointed you all and the world is better for you!!!"

Matt McGorry

Viola's co-star posted a picture of himself and his onscreen baby mama, Dascha Polanco. In true feminist fashion, Matt then reminded fans that raising a child should be as much a father's duty.

Happy Mothers Day! Men, don't be "A Bennett"

Ayesha Curry

The wife of Golden State Warriors star player Stephen Curry posted a simple message with a picture of herself and the couple's two daughters; Riley and Ryan.

"Happy Mother's Day to everyone!"

Kris Jenner

The matriarch of the Kardashian family posted some sentimental words a picture of various members of the family.

"Happy Mother’s Day!! Today is not about the party, the glamour, the guests (although you guys know I love a good party!) It's about celebrating motherhood and all the blessings that brings!!! I love nothing more in this world than being a mother and a grandmother. My amazing children and my beautiful grandbabies are my everything!! Being there through good and bad, life's most joyful moments and the most challenging, toughest times, always with unconditional love... that's what being a mother means to me. I love my kids to the moon and back!!!! Wishing all you amazing moms out there a very Happy Mother’s Day. XO"

Brittany Ashley

It's important to realize Mother's Day is a difficult time for a lot of people. Comedian Brittany Ashley of Buzzfeed made a raw, brave and very personal tribute video to her mother who she lost to cancer when she was young. Watch it here:

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
