My Dad Has Set My Standards Very High For My Future Husband

Someday I hope to meet a man just like my dad.

My Dad Has Set My Standards Very High For My Future Husband
Bailey Drake

My dad is, without question, the greatest man I know. He has inspired me and taught me so many lessons all throughout my life. He has always set an amazing example of what it's like to be a faithful follower of Jesus and has shown me what to look for in my future husband. He and my mom are both incredible example of what it means to live out a Godly marriage and to love each other unconditionally. I pray to God constantly that I will meet a husband like him one day.

My dad works harder than any other person I know. He sacrifices so much so that my family can have the life that we have. Because of his hard work, we have gotten the opportunity to travel both domestically and internationally multiple times, my brother and I have both gotten to participate in any activities we have wanted to try, and we have always lived in nice houses. However, despite all of this, my dad has also shown me and my brother that money is not the most important thing in the world. He has taught us that hard work is honoring to God and is one of the greatest ways to bring Him glory. My dad has always worked for God and tries to glorify Him in everything he does.

My dad also puts his family above everything else, besides God. He loves my mom, myself, and my brother more than anything else in the world. He does everything to attend every performance and game that my brother or I are a part of. He travels for business as rarely as possible so that he can spend as much time with us as he can. He supports everyone in our family in everything he does, and he always does it with a smile on his face. My dad never hesitates to show how much he loves the three of us.

My dad also puts his trust in God no matter what. My family has experienced our fair share of trials, and my dad has always trusted God throughout all these circumstances. He reminds me, my mom, and my brother to do the same no matter what comes our way. My dad has never lost his faith in God and always turns to Him in a crisis. He regularly uses Scripture to guide us through any difficulty we encounter and always encourages us to trust in God no matter what. His wisdom and encouragement serve as the bedrock of our family, and he is sure to keep God at the center of our family. He has led me in my spiritual walk in ways that have helped me become closer to God than ever before.

I am so very grateful to my dad for being an excellent example of the man I want to marry one day. He has shown me what a good husband looks like and the importance of marrying a man who will work hard for both God and his family. I want to marry a man who loves and supports his family just as much as my dad does for his own family. He has provided me with amazing standards for a husband, and I pray that I will find a man just like him one day. Nothing would make me happier than to be married to a man who puts God and his family above everything else and puts all of his efforts into making the best life he can for his family.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
